I think Captins Cub is on Aug 14th, which is Sat. This should be for all divisions.
Also I have a question, for anyone that has a SR heading to San Antonio for A school, Is your SR a grad and Go? I ask my SR this question all the time and he still doesn't know. Just kinda wondering who has heard yes or no from there SR about grad and go. Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm going to lay low this weekend, but will pop in occasionally. Just wanted to share some info from N4M moms who are at PIR this weekend. Quite a few stayed at the Ramada (where I stayed) and they said it was awesome, no smells and they felt very safe and comfortable there. Also, they have a "normal" shuttle bus that holds quite a few people. You need to be out front by 6:45 and it leaves at 7am. Picks you (and your sailor) up at 11:30pm - which is just under an hour after PIR is over - that's a good thing too, because it gives them time to run back to their barracks to get their pictures and grab Navy swimwear (for hotel). I still preferred driving because I got there earlier and got an excellent seat too - and I got my sailor to myself instead of sharing him with everyone on the bus! He was a Grad & Go, so wanted every minute to count!

By the way...N4M used ot e-mail me when people would post on this blog or on any of the discussions above. Suddenly, that has stopped??? Clearly, people have been posting on here today but I have not recieved a single e-mail from N4M today. Is that happening with anyone else? I am just wondering if it is a N4M issue or if it is an issue with my e-mail account specifically...or my N4M account...???

Amber: Thanks for support :) At least it is now time for bed so that means one more day is done and when I wake up there will only be 13 days left until PIR and I can tear off another loop from my countdown chain, thank God! I love tearing off one loop per day. It is honestly the first thing I think of when my alarm goes off in the morning :)

Two weeks until we head out to Great Lakes, thank God! I can hardly wait to see him! I have been missing him REALLY bad lately. I don't know exactly where all this emotion is coming from but I constantly feel like crying for the past two days and I feel like he is at least a bazillion miles away. I miss him a lot right now! Also, I got my job back (Im a teacher) which is GREAT but school starts on Monday so I am in the craziness of trying to get everything all ready and prepared for the students but in the mean time feeling so "half full" because he is gone while I am doing all this.
I have been laid off for a year because of the CA education budget cuts so getting back in the classroom is a big transition for me and I just really wish I could at least talk to him while I am going through this. Normally he is with me every step of the way when I am setting up my classroom and he is VERY helpful. He is my muscle man too and he helps me move all my heavy stuff in my classroom but this time around I am doing it alone and it just feels....sad. It's not really the "help" necessarily that I miss (although I do miss that!) because I have managed to find help from others on campus, it just feels so wierd not having him next to me during this transition to brainstorm with and laugh with, and at the end of the day, go HOME with! I know I need to get out of this sad phase and focus on being excited to see him VERY soon. It's just one of those days where I feel like I am holding back the tears and if an-y-thing goes wrong (at home or in my new teaching assignment) I am going to fall apart!
*Plus, on top of that, I am in the middle of finishing up my last class in my Masters Degree program and finishing up my thesis. AND, I am moving next weekend into a new apartment because our lease is up here and we didn't want to have to renew it for another year, we wanted to switch to a month to month becuase we don't really know when/where he will be stationed and when I will be going with him. Just so much on my plate... and no honey to laugh with throughout it and cuddle with at the end of the day :(
Sorry for the novel but I just needed to unload...breath in.... breath out....breath in... breath out....ahhhh....now back to working on my classroom!
