JD's Angel & AlbamaNavy I will keep both your SR in my prayers . I thinks someone asked if I cut my hair . Yes I did with my crazy work schedule and the South Texas Heat I wanted a wash and go but unfortunately I have to do alittle more than that. What do you guys think ...

Amber - you are so lucky! You have early mail times. Up until a week ago my mail time was 11:00am... then suddenly, out of nowhere, they changed my mail time to "anywhere between 2:00pm and 4:00pm!" This bites!!! No mail yesterday, I am keeping my fingers crossed for today! Pretty pretty please mail man, with a cherry on top :) *I aint too proud to beg!* LOL!

For anyone wanting to know who is in what division, go to the meet and greet discussion and it has a list of everyone on this site that has an SR graduating on 8/20, I did posted this cause I saw people asking about who was in what div. I hope this helps. If there is just the screen name there, that means that they have not RSVP for meet and greet. Thanks SailorsSweetheart for the help with this :)

KatyDids: If at all possible, I would highly recommend that you rent a car. You can try ACE which someone posted on another site was much cheaper. There is a train to Great Lakes which some take...but then how will you get around in Great Lakes? So it at all possible, try to budget for a car.

I got a non-refundable ticket when I went up. Change fee would apply. I had to change it...found that the NEW ticket price (same flights, a week later) was actually cheaper than the first price. So the normal $150 change fee was reduced to $89 when you allow for the cheaper ticket. Refundable tickets are VERY expensive...

As far as when you know your recruit is graduating on time, unfortunately you will not know that until BattleStations is over. Although most pass that, some may not. Their final testing academically and with the PFA (physical fitness part) is usually the week before PIR. But should they not pass then, some may be repeating those tests right up to the day before BStations day. I created the 8/6 and 8/13 PIR groups...and this has happened in the 8/6 group...at least twice. Two recruits were trying again to make their run time just a day before BStations....graduation is this Friday.

So you can see where it is very hard to wait and make your reservations this late, unless you have LOTS of leeway in your timeframe to get there. Many of the ladies are finding that prices for flights are DROPPING as the date gets closer, but that is not a "given."

As far as one airline being better than another, who knows these days! We flew American and were very happy with them.

Hope this helps!

JD's Angel: You are in my prayers. I look forward to seeing you on the 19th, and I really really hope your recruit gets well soon and graduates as soon as he's able. You have no idea how much sympathy I have for you.

JD's Angel: Hang in there. RCU is there for those who need to heal. Let him take the time to heal and then concentrate on getting through BC as a healthy recruit. He will work through it. My SR is in RCU right now (well, as far as I know, until we get a call or a letter) and doing what he is supposed to do there: get healthy. That's THE most important thing. Boot camp will get finished up when the timing is right.

JD's Angel: That is tough when they are in RCU. But he'll make it. I was in touch with another mom today who has the same issue with her son....stress fractures. Keep encouraging him...he WILL heal....and will become a sailor...

AlabamaNavayMom: It is called the RICKY CRUD and most get it. Hope he is well soon!

Yes, his BStations group will probably go Thurs Aug 12th.

tasmyn: You get the Battlestations dates from your recruits...that is the only way to know. If someone can keep a talley, then contact nnichols (your group creator up top) and ask if she can post the dates.
