I think the Meet & Greet will be fine for us all. Let's just make it a plan NOT to let anyone leave alone, even if we have to walk out as a group to cars! Personally I'm not staying at the Ramada (though I do have reservations there I need to cancel) because we need the space (Gayla her hubby and my SR's brother are going to stay at Hawthorn).

Today has been interesting.... I got up late (boy was that nice!), FINALLY got my camera!! (I now have a brand spanking new Canon SX20IS that will be PRIMED and READY for the weekend!!!!!!!). My brother and grandma and I went out for sushi today, which was pretty nice, and we made a trip to Joann's. (Amber I need to send ya an email.)

I can't wait until tomorrow because then we can say "THIS MONTH". And 19 days sounds SO Much better than 3 weeks.

I don't know if I have any mail waiting in my box at home, but if there is anything good you know I'll share. :)

Ladies, before bailing on the Ramada, please read the post on PIR 8/13/2010 by BigDaddyJames (posted about 2 hours ago) after talking to Clint (GM). Then make your own decision on what you want to do.

Hoppi- Thanks for the link. Whats funny about the color red for an E-2 is it repersents a Fireman Apprentice ( my husband and I both are Firefighters/Medics for our county).

Okay ladies & gents, I spoke with the hotel that my family is staying at (Homewood suites by Hilton) the lady at the front desk said that they used to do a meet and greet there at the hotel but it did not work out, but the hotel said we are all more then welcome to come to their hotel and "hang out" and visit with each other. She also stated that she would not recommend for anyone to stay at any hotel in Waukegan as it is a bad area, even though the Navel base is located in Waukegan, it is it’s own “sealed” community, this is what I was told, I hope this helps any of you who are in the process of booking hotels and/or thinking of changing hotels.

Wow Hoppi, thanks for that posting of the Ramada Inn hotel. I didn't book there, thank goodness and now I'm thinking I will not be attending the meet and greet, at least not there. Thanks for trying to keep us safe during our travels.
As for why I used the "red" color, I thought It poped off the background of the blue. Why do you ask?

My SR talkes a lot about a good friend that he has made in Div 283. The initials are J.C. and he is 26 years old. Does he belong to any of you. I would love to share some of the wonderful things about him that my SR shares with me :)

Ma'am and Sir are big NO NO's when used with enlisted ranks. They must call them by their rank; Petty Officer, Chief, etc. That is why they have to be able to recognize the rank by their uniform right away. They are allowed to "ma'am and sir" the officers which is appropriate. My son learned this in DEP group.....they really engrained it in his group.

I remember when I was in private school in Alabama, we got in trouble if we didn't say yes sir and yes ma'am. But nowadays I say it occasionally to be polite. Michael, on the other hand, has a tendency to forget his manners. But that's okay, because I've helped him learn:)

Each div gets to pick the color of ribbon they want and decorate it, so just talk among your divison and pick a color. Div 283 pick blue camo. Here a pic of the one I did, If anyone needs ideas.
