Son was raised to not sir and ma'am me, just as I was not allowed to say this to my parents, even though I had to sir and ma'am everyone else. My hubby bought a new truck today, so i've been having Navy moms withdrawls, lol

Oh, Hoppi, I pretty much figured that, but here in Michigan, we don't get Ma'am'd that much. Makes me smile.

We had a quick storm again last night but nothing major. I think it rumbled twice. Gayla (new on here, everyone say hi! *LOL*) lives in the midwest so she sees storms ALL the time! Today is nasty humid, again, and hot, though people I work with say it's "alright". *groan*

I got a letter last night and my SR's JEALOUS because I spend so much time writing and chatting with you all and not enough time writing him. I had to laugh because I spend about 3 hours a night writing him and sometimes again in the morning. I just send multiple letters in one envelope. he'll be getting individual envelopes now. Haha... His last letter had me crying.... *sniff* I miss him.

Our mail lady has not been very nice to me this week :(- Holding out for 2 morrow!
Funny about the heat, we were looking at trucks today for hubby, and I was so HOT, I could hardly concentrate on our task at hand and while standing there in my tank top, shorts, and flips flops, I felt sooo sorry for all our SR's and having to wear their uniforms.

Hah! I'm just waiting to hear my son tell me he is so embarrassed that his mommy contacted RTC about his missing valuables. But I honestly don't know if the thought of identity theft even crossed his mind with so much going on with him. I didn't want to risk anything happening to his bank account, so I figured I'd send a quick e-mail even if it did embarrass him.

Great news Michimom... or should I say "Ma'am" LOL! That is really neat how they wrote back to you in such a short amount of time. I must admit, my first thought was to send them an e-mail asking them to tell my SR that I love him and am so proud of him... I quickly decided that they porbalbly wouldn't appreciate that, ha!

Update on my son who MIGHT graduate 8/20. He has his personal belongings back!

Since we got his letter yesterday, I was very concerned about his missing ATM card so I called the bank. Of course, they couldn't tell me anything because I am not on his account. (OK, I told him it would be a good idea to put me on his account before BC, but he wanted to be independent and wouldn't do it. Huh!) So, I got on the RTC website, found the e-mail address for the public affairs office, and sent them an e-mail. Within a short time I received a response that they spoke to him today and he had his missing items. So nice.

Funny thing: the response e-mail starts out, "Ma'am, . . . " I heard that once your child is a sailor, you'll be ma'am'd all over the place, and yes, it has started. LOL
