Omg, that really sucks. I had appendicitis just over a year ago, and my appendix burst too, but it only tore slightly. My problem was, I wound up getting pneumonia as a complication of the surgery, and spent almost a week in the hospital. So I understand how nasty all that is. And in boot camp, I'm sure it's much worse. I'm glad to hear he's doing better, though. Welcome! We're glad to have you here!

Michimom - Welcome! Im very sorry to hear about your son, but I'm glad he is on the road to recovery, and also hoping he joins our PIR! I'll pray for your family and your son. Thanks for letting us know about where to get ideas for the ribbons.

Welcome Michimom :) I am so sorry to hear about your sons appendix! That must have been scary for you, and for him. I am happy to hear that he is on his way to recovery and will soon be joining in with a division again.

Hello, ladies. This is my first posting here because I'm still not sure when my son is graduating. He was supposed to graduate 7/23, but his appendix ruptured just about 2 weeks before, on 7/10. He was in the hospital for a week (!), and is now recuperating in Ship 5. When he's fit, he'll be assigned a new ship and division, and finish up with them. Since he only had two weeks left, if he recovers according to schedule, that might be 8/20. We hope! He called and left a message on Saturday (missed that call) and said he had about 2 weeks left recovering.

So my posting is my step toward graduation. I just hope it's 8/20. He said he's bored and I know he is anxious to get back on track.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to think positive thoughts, but am still feeling like we're in limbo. I am getting excited reading all of your posts and I'm hoping my son joins one of your recruits for his last two weeks.

I read in someone's post something about some ribbons to wear for PIR. Check out the 7/23 PIR Group (Oreo Queens). One of the moms made ribbons for all who wanted them; she posted a picture if you want some ideas. I might try that myself.

I got another letter today, yay! He talked about some tests that they took. There were four of them and he had found out all the scores (except on that he would find out about on the 22nd or 23rd) and he passed them all :) I am so proud of him!
I love that little Build-A-Bear. I might actually get one and bring a black sharpie and let him write me a little "I Love You" note on it and then I can cuddle with that while he is in A School. Thanks for posting it. *I know, I am a bit cheesy, ha!*

Alabama: My Sailor had an eye infection too and was sick. I'd wonder if they were bunk mates but they're in different divisions. Yuck! Something MUST be going around. I know the crud does all the time but the eye infection? yuck.

Amber: I gave mine 2 prestamped envelopes from the post office and they haven't appeared either. I asked him in one of my letters about it but so far no response.

(I'm still catching up). I made ANOTHER reservation, this time at the Hawthorn Suites. They're the same price as the Ramada. I'm terrible..... :(

Stephanie: As you get into those final 2 weeks, you will see how the excitement builds to see him! It won't be painful anymore like it is now missing him...it will be exciting! So hang in there...just a little over 2 weeks and they start BStations. Believe me...it gets better! Sorry about the lost bonus....the RCPO (do you mean the RPOC position?) I understand that they rotate that around in bc. Don't worry...just keep focusing on PIR! All will be worth it then!

Teri: Take the binoculars! Yes, you will use them!
