My letters, btw, were so awesome. They came at a good time too. I had a pretty crappy day yesterday with so much going on. It was nice to "hear" him. He even gave me advice that was seriously pertinent to my evening. He told me to 'stop thinking'. He also said that he really misses me and went on about our relationship. It made me feel so good... I cried through both letters. He wants me to send a pic.. i will as soon as I get my silly camera. :) *sniffles a bit thinking about the letters*. I didn't bring them to work with me today because I knew I'd cry (a good one this time).

Hiya ladies! I got 2 letters last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOO!!!! We should be getting phone calls soon too. Not the ones "promised" for doing good on tests, but the 2-3 week phone call. :D I'm posting more under the Div thread.

If you do write letters - count me in too!

Great,.jkelley, about your phone call. And...judging by some of the music out there now...I think downloading and playing does qualify for "musically talented!"

SailorsSweetheart: I think that is a wonderful idea to write every recruit in your division to motivate them!

If the 900 Division is musically talented, my son stood in the wrong line:) He can download and play music very well and very loud, does that classify him as musically talented? Got my phonecall yesterday, he sounded great, eating and sleeping good and has gained weight.

Also, I was looking at the new graduations posted on the RTC website and there are now TWO below us! That means we are getting closer and closer to PIR, I am soooo excited :) I noticed that on the 9/3 graduation there is a 900 div AND an 800 division. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the difference between a 800 and 900 division? I know 900 is the musically talented group of recruits but not sure about the 800 div.

It is 1:00 in the morning my time (CA), I just got home from a long day, and I am getting caught up on the posts for today! I am such an addict; I should be going to bed right now, ha!

Congrats SharonB on your phone call (and nice running into you on FB, ha!) It must have been SO nice hearing his voice :)

Div, 283... it seems like other divisions have been getting their calls within the past couple days so we should be soon (please!). As far as the letters to the entire div go... I am SO in! If the seven (or so) of us from 283 each write about 10 or 11 letters maybe that would cover the entire division...it might be just what they need to get motivated to work better as a team! We could pick a day when we agree to mail them and figure out what they should say ahead of time so they are all the same (keeping it positive/motivating/encouraging). Also, that might be really cool for those who unfortunatly don't get any mail from home. Our letters could really touch their (macho) hearts. Whatever we do, count me in! I want to see my Sailor in 31 days... not any longer!

Teri: Yes, that is very possible. I would plan to stay over until Tues. You can even meet him at the airport that day and wait with him and the other sailors at the gate--family military pass--- (can you take an afternoon flight so you can spend more time with him?). At the airport, you can give him his cell and laptop...that is, if he is allowed to have it in Pensacola. I know my son was allowed this in Meridian for A School.
