I have been writing USS Chicago but not RTC like Jessicab said...I just copied everything exactly like what was on the envelopes and since there were 3 the same I think i should be fine.
Very scary thought that some left in handcuffs! I wonder why

JD'sAngel - I am so happy to hear that you got a letter! I can't believe that some have left in handcuffs!!! That is crazy, and a little scary! At least they are not there with our men now.
Stephanie - Glad to hear that you got a letter too. That must have been a nice surprise :) Funny how he compared the RDC's to his dad's yelling. My Sailor compared the RDC's yelling to his moms yelling, haha! I have not been writing USS Chicago either.

I got a letter yesterday and am just now getting on here to catch up. I had my final exam in Calculus today so it was pretty craptastic. The letter was short (long for my sailor though) and I've read it about 20 billion times. My sailor said that a few in the division have gone home under dishonorable discharges and in handcuffs! Yikes! He also said that the first few days they made them run run run. Some guys passed out and some threw up. I feel bad for my guy because he was told by the recuiter that he could get his E2 coming out if he passed the test. Which he did. What he wasn't told was that he had to pass his PFA, too, but he didn't. I thought I read somewhere that there is a final PFA that counts more, so hopefully he'll luck out and get his E2 after all. :)

He also mentioned that he had to go so he could SEW! Holy moley I never thought I'd hear that word come from him. *LOL* GO NAVY! Teach that boy some skills!

As for letters, his was dated July 11th. He claims that they're pretty strict with the mail and letter writing, so if I don't hear from him it isn't that he doesn't want to write, it's that "he can't". I wonder if they just told him that for the first few weeks so that they can form a unit. It seems like the letters are coming to others so maybe he just doesn't have time or is too tired.

I'm not so worried now that I heard from him (and yes he did scrap his clothes). He also said they've paid out the wazoo (except he used another sailor word there) for their uniforms and required items. Plus side is that he said he looks really good in his working uniform. I can't wait to see!!!! Blue IS my favorite color, but he might not be wearing that (I looked at other posts in other discussions and apparently they have the tans too).

SO there's my update for the day. :)

AlabamaNavyMom: THAT is why they are so uptight on PIR day to obey all of the rules...to the "t"...because they are threatened with going back into boot camp if they don't! They can't WAIT to get out and move on! A School is a whole different experience...and you have contact with them again! :-)

I can't wait to get home on Sunday, first thing I'm going to do is head strait for my letters, it will b great to hold them, lol.
Stephanie- Thats what moms do, we love our kids no matter what, we may not be pleased with them at times but will always love them. I think only a mother truely understands this. Keep writing those letters, he'll never forget it, ever!

I am not sure if any of you with husbands/fiancé’s/boyfriends in boot camp right now have children but I found a website called http://www.militarykidz.com/ that seems pretty cute. I haven’t done much on it because you have to download it but the homepage looks cute. I don't have kids but being a teacher I am drawn like a magnet to kid focused/kid friendly things :)

I have not heart anything about an apple pealing contest, haha! However, my fiance is in div 283 so maybe it is just in div 282. That does sound funny though :)

Have any of your boys talked about an apple peeling contest??? My bf said him and another guy challanged eachother to an apple peeling contest with a knife. I thought that was funny. He was so mad because he keeps losing but the last time he said he lost by 3 seconds. lol!
