Amber - I am sorry to hear that you had such a hard day. At least, like you said, the true healing can begin now. My prayers are with you, and with your son and the rest of your family.

got SIX letters today, yay! My fiance writes me everyday and then just mailes them all on Sunday so it makes it really fun when I get his letters in the mail. Here are a few things I learned: They started week 1 day 1 (1:1) last Tuesday, July 6th so I think that would mean that today would be week 2 day 2 (2:2). He said the marched 5 miles on their first day (1:1)!!! Also, I found out some info about thier divsional flag. They have the initials on there "T.A.T.A." which stands for "This Aint the Arizona" which is one of the main ships (14) for 8/13/10... I sense some healthy competition there, ha! Div 283 is doing well, they are working well as a team and they respect their RDCs. Oh, I found out that they operated on a mock holiday schedule on July 4th so they had a lot of free time to study and make friends. He said he has made some good friends in his division but he didn't give names. In the questionnaire I sent him last week one of the questions asked for the names of his 5 closest friends so hopefully when I get that back I can see if any of them belong to any of you. i hope so, that would be so cool! :)

Eveing everyone,
The Burial was this afternoon, Im so glad that this day is almost over. Now the healing can truely begin. Each day I know it will get better. Hoping to get a phone call here within the week, I can't wait to hear my son's voice, I miss him so much. I'm hoping that the next letter I recieve is good news, I'd like to hear he passed his swim. :)))))

WOW susan! I didn't think about that. My hubby's cell phone was missing and I'm packing up the apartment....I have to go unpack his shoes to see if his phone was in there!! :-D LOL!!

Fyi, I just added a discussion above where we can gather and share all the info that we read/discover about PIR along the way. Hopefully this will ensure that our traveling to and from Great Lakes will be reletively stress-free so we can just focus on our New Sailors :) I don't know about the rest of you, but I get nervous about traveling to a new place that I have never been; especically when it is for something this important :)

I think we all can agree that N4M's is VERY addicting! But in a GOOD way! :-)

JD's Angel - so glad that you found this group (and that your Sialor is in my Sailor's same division, yay)! Welcome :) The ladies in this group are so awesome! They have helped me so much by sharing info and encouraging eachother (and me) and it has honestly been a life saver to be in this group! Sometimes, if I have a really busy day, I get all excited when I get home and can read the posts on here. For some reason it helps me feel like I am connecting with my Sailor when I am on here :)

Sobe: Ah... the box.... it's possible he just donated it all. He didn't take anything with him, just the clothes on his back. He probably won't fit them anyway when he comes home. *LOL*

JD's Angel - Most get the "kid in a box" before the form letter. You said he is your BF, could he of sent the box to a family member? Some new recruits wear old stuff to GL then just donate it - so they don't ship anything back. But if he took a cell phone, he'd probably want to mail that back. They always come back in two pieces because the battery is removed (shipping safety thing) and they usually stick them in their shoes or a pocket.
