We got a letter today from John. His wife called me today so excited that she got several letters and I was so jealous. As soon as I came home from work I ran to the mailbox and there it was. A letter from John. It was like Christmas. I ran in the house to tell my husband. I let him open it and we read it together. John said he is the RPOC of his division right now but he said he really had to work and study hard to keep it but he was so excited. He said division 284 is a really good group. We are so proud of him as I know all of you are.

Alabama - Did you have to provide a credit card number to hold it?

Okay Ladies - I went and read on the PIR 8/13/10 group and many of them got calls today from thier Sailors, anywhere from 8-25min long calls!!! Ours are comming soon! Ahhhh, I just can hardly wait! I almost teared up reading how excited they all are right now. Hopefully that will be all of us next Monday (pretty pretty please!!!).

diannep & Alabama - Thanks for the ideas. I will try calling again soon :)

I called 1-800-navy-inn and made the reservations. The operator I talked to did not say anything about the 30 day restriction.

Maybe the secret in reserving a Navy Lodge room early is to make sure they know you have a recruit graduating????? Just guessing. So make sure to mention that. There is a base there also in addition to the Recuit Command Center, so maybe the rule is for those connected to the sailors on that base and not the recruits?

AlabamaNavyMom- How did you make a researvation at a Navy Lodge 2 weeks ago??? I just called today to try to make my reservation and they said they only book 30 days out so I cannot reserve for August 19th until July 19th.

Amber - My morning is going great :) The about.com site that you reccomended is one of the ones that I have been reading too, it is really good! And your right, it is funny too. Expecially the ending part (page 5) where he gives a typical day schedule, haha!

Sharon, call back and talk to a different operator. Tell them that you are family of a sailor graduating from the Recruit Command Center on 8/20. See if you get the same "story". Some of the moms on here already have booked their rooms there as you can see by the posts below. Worth a try to call and get another person.

I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate around on this site. My son is the techy one that usually helped me with all of this! My son's best friend received a letter from him today, she said he's missing his Dr. Pepper but boot camp hasn't been too hard so far. I'm hoping that MY letter comes in the mail today. :)
We're staying at the Hampton Inn in Libertyville since we had Hilton Honors points to use up. It says it's only 7 miles from Great Lakes.

SusanA - I made reservations 2 weeks ago at Navy Lodge. I do recommend you make reservations somewhere soon - SpringHill Suites went up 40 a night (from $107 - $149 with AAA discount) in less than a week.

Salior's sweetheart,
I went to about.com to get a general list of what they do week by week.
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/navyjoin/l/aanavybasic1.htm It was written by a man that went through it, I was laughing when I read it, just cause he puts humor into it, I too am just as interested to know where there at, that way I can write some of my letters around it.
How is everyone this morning?
