sailors sweetheart, no. I was hoping to get a letter today but didn't. My friend reminded me though that monday was a federal holiday and mail didn't run. So I'm hoping I get one either tomorrow or saturday.

Okay, I just watched the video below and got all choked up. I just kept saying in my head, "Come on honey, you CAN do this, you're trained, push yourself harder than you ever thought you could, make yourself proud!!!" Sometimes I wish he could hear my thoughts. I guess that's what letters are for :)

Yay! I just talked to my Sailor's recruiter and he told me what my Sailor's ship and div numers are (Ship 7 Div 283). I can finally mail him my letters. I know that I sould probably wait until I hear from my Sailor before I send them just to confirm the mailing address but I type all my letters so if my Sailor gives me something different when I hear from him I will just reprint and resend :) Yay!!! I think my Sialor is in the same div as Amber's son :)
How about if we all try to include our Sailor's ship and division numbers in our screen names so we can see who is in eachothers divisions?
Sobe - Thank you SO much for posting this video. I am going to watch it right now! I have watched a couple on You Tube, I love to learn about what they are all doing.

Here's a great BS-21 video, it's a CNN report (Navy approved)! Turn your sound on.

I have not gotten a letter or phone call, Yet! so I'm keeping busy on here and writing him letters :) . Can't wait to have a letter though, that way I can have more to write about..
To all: I've posted all the questionnaires that I have found (12 i think) above in our discussion's under "recruit Questionnaires". Have fun with them, some are really funny. I printed them all then made my own, using some of those questions and making up some I've MIne, and tailoring them to fit my son.

btw, did anyone get any letters today or this week at all? I check the mail today and again there was nothing :(

jetcar - I don't know how credible this information is but I read on this site somewhere that it is usually the first 2 divisions of the training group that have most of the Grad & Go's. But, I also heard that they are trickeld throughout the other divisions as well. Either way, I would suggest trying to stay out there the entire weeked just incase he is not a Grad & Go. I don't know if that is helpful at all but that is what I am going to try to do. Maybe if we both end up having Sailors that are Grad & Go's we can go sight seeing together, ha!

tasmyn44 - I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Thank God she is going to be okay! I would suggest not telling your son about her strokes. The rule of thumb that I have adopted is that if there is nothing they can do to change the situation, they don't need it to be weighing on their hearts right now. I don't know, that is just my two cents. It is a hard decision to make though, I completely understand. It feels so weird having our Sailors gone. There have been a handful of things that have happened since my Sailor left (our friend flipped her car, I lost my income, ...etc.) that I have wanted SO badly to tell him but I have refrained only in an effort to allow him to channel ALL of his strenght and ALL of his energy on getting through this phase of his life and making his dreams come true with the Navy. This is a hard road to travel for all of us left back at home but we can get through it... especially with eachothers help and support :)

I agree, My son and I talked about this, and He did'nt wnat to know any of it. He said he coul'nt do anything about it, even if he got called home, so there was not point in putting the extra "stress" on thier shoulders. I'm sorry to hear about your mom and I hope sh'e doing better and gaining health every day, you and yours are in my prayers.
I had hubby take off the whole weekend ( I'm out on work comp right now :( and I booked our hotel for the whole weekend to. Even if my son is a Grad & Go. We plan on hanging out with my Son on Friday and at the airport then taking the younger son to see more sights (if he's a Grad and Go)
