JUST SOME EVERYDAY THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE....
someone holding a door open for someone else...
watching a child's face full of wonder as he/she sees things for the first time in our world...
a dog waiting at the door, so excited to see his/her master return, so happy, so forgiving, so ready to comfort and love...
a person slowing down to allow a driver from a side street to go in front of him/her...
A person with many items insisting that one with just a few go ahead of him/her in a line at a store...
a person who looks right in your face, asks how you are, and then really listens to your reply...
a person who radiates JOY on their face in spite of horrible worldly circumstances affecting them at that time...
AND, my all-time favorite...
watching that BIG DOOR rise up revealing a sea of new sailors, standing at attention, waiting to come into the PIR Hall to be reunited with their families!
A true "Ah-HAAAA" moment!
Happy 4th of July to everyone!

I see we have another new PIR group - how exciting! And I see diannep is here helping you along, as well as Incognito. I'm usually pretty active on this site, but have been very busy this last week with a huge fundraiser (and it isn't over yet). This site helped me get through boot camp and I promised to pay the favor forward. None of us are experts, but we will laugh and cry with you, share some tips and lessons learned, and maybe even make you laugh occasionally!

I have a group for Grad & Go's that can be very helpful if your recruit writes that s/he is a G&G. Click on the hyperlink (blue underlined words) to get to it: Grad & Go Info

I just went to Bing.com and typed in "Navy Boot Camp" and it gave me some videos to watch. I started watching a couple videos of PIR's that others have posted... I got all choked up! And I don't even know the people in the videos, ha! PIR 8/20/10 is going to be so amazing! I am going to plan to bring tissues. That is going to be a VERY powerful day :)

jkelley: There is a group on here called "seal moms" that you might want to join. You may get more specific answers to your questions on there as you will find bc moms as well as "veteran" moms on there. Good luck!

Just got my form letter! He's in ship 7 div 283. And he wrote on it (my son hates to write, so i was expecting it) seems he's very tierd. I'm so excited, i was thinking his grad date would be 8/27, but I get to see him sooner. He arrived on 6/28. I look forward to getting to know everyone and sharing our experiences.

Anyone know when they take the PST for SEAL/EOD? and what happens next? I have read on some of the discussions they change Ship & Div, is that right?

Here are two great links that show BC in more detail than I have been able to find anywhere on the web. Of course its not going to show ALL of it, and just know the RDCs are not "as calm" as whats shown here. But they do great stuff up there, because our kids come back the men and women we always knew they could be!!

Sure! Ya'll can copy and paste helpful information you see on N4Ms.

Also there are some Navy rules for when you take your new sailors out on Liberty will need to have those rules so you and any other friends and relatives of the new sailor dont get him or her into trouble. "Hoppi aka Angie" has that list, I am sure she'll be around your group soon (she works for the Navy) and she'll be happy to share those with you and much more.
