Hi Mom's, I am Debera my RS is Kyle.  We will not be able to attend his graduation which has me in tears.  He father has advanced progessive MS and is in a wheelchair and financially we just can't do it.  Can this be recorded and CD's sold?  I am interested in find out if this is possible.  That way if we can't be there we can still see him march and graduate.  Any response would be appreciated.

I saw on FB where there is a # you can call and buy a DVD of the graduation......what div is your son in?
they do sell dvds from what i am told... what ship and div is kyle in?
I am sure with enough of us mothers going we can all get pics and give him a hug from you and your husband! :)
Kyle is in SHIP 11, DIV 273, that would be great if he could be included/adobted for the day by a family although that is a lot to ask of anyone?  If we could have gone we would have celebrated with him it is a major move in his life and career.   Thanks for the idea's I will try and fine the phone number to call about the DVD of the graduation.
I sent a friend request so we can talk about "adopting" your son for the day.
Hi moms, my name is Debbie and my son in also Div 273 but ship 2. I too am not sure if we will be able to attend the PIR either, and it's killing me. I was one of those mom's that never missed a cross country meet, basketball or baseball game unless I had exhausted all other options. In all his years of school I only missed a few. I'm trying to figure out a way, but I'm concerned the closer it gets, the harder and more expensive it will be to get tickets. The thought of all those recruits having family there to share their achievement and excitement with and my SR having no one just breaks my heart. I can't even talk about it without the water works. He would say, "It's no big deal. I'll be fine". He's never been real emotional that way. I'm not. I work on wildland fires though and that is our busiest time of year in the northwest. If there is a fire and I get the call, I have to go. So everyone don't tell my husband I said this, but pray for no fires in the northwest the end of August. lol.
Ladies, your sons will likely not be the only recruits there with no family.  It is an expensive proposition when you live cross country from Great Lakes and not everyone can swing it.  I know that doesn't make it easier for you, though.  Maybe you can plan a visit to their A school (if it's a longer one) or to their first posting.  I loved seeing my daughter's PIR, but frankly visiting her at her A school was much more relaxing.  She didn't have to be in her uniform the whole time (which was nice for her) and she was much more relaxed.  Her graduation from DLI was less formal, but still nice and there was no limit to the guests that could attend.  Oh, and no limit to the hugs!  At Great Lakes, they're told only one hug per person after they PIR!  We joked that it would be a loooooonnnnggg hug!  Since DLI was a long A school (nearly 1-1/2 years), she had her own apartment and we enjoyed hanging out and having her play her guitar for us.  Your recruit knows your financial, health and/or work situation and really will understand if you can't make it.
