My son is in Ship 07 Div 272. I received his box and form letter on 7/5. I wanted to make a group so I could be in contact with moms of other recruits in his division so we could share updates. I have made our reservationns for PIR for the hotel (Residence Inn), we are still trying to figure out if we should take the train or fly to GL. We will also be attending the meet and greet on aug.25. I look forward to keeping in touch and meeting everyone!

Hey there...we booked a room at Ramada. We will drive from Baton Rouge. So, we will meet! I am beyond proud of my son...there are no words to describe my feelings...I look at recent pics of him, and wonder when my boy turned into a man! My husband laughs and says "about two weeks ago".

well i received my first letter from my SR. he says things are going good and he is doing well. it felt so good to hear that so now i can worry a little less, he talked alot about his div, and is making new friends, there are about 6 guys that he knows of that are going to pensacola with him. i got a little teary eyed when he shared that they went on their first march and he shed a tear, he thought of it as a sense of pride, he said he was smiling most of the way so he knew he was not sad! im so proud of him and all of our SR's.

I wonder where the other moms are? I am so proud of our SRs! I cannot imagine that some of these kids are merely 18, and have taken an oath to protect and defend us. It blows me away.
my son said in his letter that there were like 90 SR's in his division, i was wondering the same thing. FYI on the facebook us navy recruit training command site, a lady had ordered div. t shirts with their div. flag on the back. if interested you should take a look. you dont have to have a facebook accout to view the site, only if you want to comment. ive found alot of info on there.
I have a FB, and like them. I tried to answer the question last tuesday, but was outnumbered!
same here i had to take a guess because the bootcamp page was down, im gonna have to print it out and study it. it would be wonderful to see a picture. that would be priceless for us moms!!!!!
I spent an hour searching for the answers...never could find it!

well maybe this tuesday, but from the looks of things it might just be up to us. i have posted things several times but haven't gotten any more responses for other moms on this site or the RTC FB page.

my sons job is for air traffic control, how bout yours and will he be going to pensicola for a-school to?

Our SR is going to San Antonio...following in his dad's footsteps, He chose to be a corpsman.

Thats wonderful! Im sure he is very proud.

My husband was Army infantry, so im glad he didn't go that route. He is proud that he chose the Navy ATC and is on to a rewarding career, his grandfather was also in the Navy.

Oh yeah, glad your SR chose a different job. Ours wanted infantry with Marines...like a friend from school. Lots of tears, and fighting. Trivia Tuesday tomorrow....I'm gonna use my iPad and PC.
great idea!. im actually off work tomorrow so i will be prepared and ready to react quickly instead of hoping nobody sees me on facebook! (im a nurse in an emergency room, they kinda frown on that), gonna study tonight before bed. good luck to us both!!!
