Finally arrived home in the wee morning hours last night.....what an incredible experience!! It was everything and more I thought it would be. Not near enough time though! Been in tears again most of the morning.....tears because I'm proud, but, also realizing that this saying goodbye thing is something I'll have to get used to. My sailor is Active Navy...she won't be home to visit until Christmas. Her school will be 6 months long! I did already get a call from her today though! The open communication is a welcomed relief! Finally!!
I too want to think everyone from this site for the experience and support I had here. Navy for Moms is more than I ever expected as well! It has been a rock for me. I will always remember the journey I shared here with so many wonderful people! To the veterans.....words aren't enough! Thank you for your support and wisdom! It has been priceless. I wish everyone and their sailors the absolute best and calm seas! HOOYAH!
I agree, PIR was amazing. I've never witnessed so much pride and patriotism in one place!
Seeing my son in his uniform made every tear, sleepless night and hours worrying all worth while.
Is anyone interested in sharing our photos? I will be uploading mine to snapfish and I can send you a link to it if you message me your email address. If anyone is willing to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. We sat on the far right end, so I'd love a good pic of the door opening and some views from the other end of the building.
For any who missed PIR, please be sure to call and order the PIR DVD. Here is the phone number:

I believe it is $29. You can try the email address, but it changes sometimes:

Graduation was just SPECTACULAR!! I just wish we had more time with our son this weekend but they cancelled our flight for saturday so we decided to drive from Chicago to NY on Friday night. 17hrs later we made it home safe, just in time for Irene. I can't thank everyone enough for the support over the 2 months of boot camp. I just wish we had made it to the Meet and Great. I did get to see Dana who I gave a great big hug! She has a heart of gold! Good luck everyone as we all move into the next phase of their careers.

Home from PIR. What an awesome experienceit was. I loved spending the day with my sailor. Now I will wait until she comes home at the end of October to visit before she ships out to places yet unknown.
