Caylex, he meant leave for the airport at 1am.
I agree on the Dell, that's all I'll buy ;)
Sparkling, do you think he meant leaving for the airport at 1:00 a.m. or actually flying out that early? I've read lots of posts that say they sometimes get to the airport that early but don't fly out until a few hours later.
I sure had a bad evening/night last night. I really need a phone call (like we all do). Have not heard his voice in 19 days!
Thank you Dianne.
Jana, I am so glad you got to the post office!! There's no feeling like the one you get when you see that envelope!

Well I was at the post office at 8 a.m. this morning to get the postage due letter my SR had sent me. That goofy kid--he had stuffed one of the questionnaires (3 pages long), and 3 sheets of paper on which he had written or drawn something on it in one of the small envelopes. Why he used that when I have sent him several long envelopes I don't know. Got a kick out of what he wrote on one page. I'm sure he got this from someone else:
Good morning to you, Good evening to me
We're getting IT'D as far as the eye can see
You will never know the things I miss
Like the times the mornings are bliss
He said he aced his personal, weapons turnover, PFA and zone inspection and got perfect on them. He said he had live firing tomorrow (Aug 5), that he practiced that day, but didn't do too good (not surprising, as he has never fired a gun before in his life!). When he wrote the letter, he said they started hell week and called it the threshold of boot camp and said if they got through this week it's time to put it on cruise control--just had to get through firefighting. It was good to hear from him.
He also sent a page on which he had written in block letters:
CAN'T WAIT
TIL AUG. 26
That also happens to be his 19th birthday!!
