Ladies,
The Ramada in waukeegan does a Meet n Greet the night before PIR from 6-8 PM. They do it for every PIR. It is gratis. If you are staying at the Ramada, you will receive a voucher for two free drinks. Otherwise you can bring your own water or soft drink in or there is a cash bar. They serve lots of finger food. A hostess will give you a name tag. She will write your Div , name and state you are from on it. I would take a shape along and add your N4M name too.
I believe you ( anyone in your group) can go over to the calendar, click 08/25 and add it as an event for tour group to RSVP too. The RSVP is just for you here to see who will and will not be attending. Ramada does not need it. They will do it no matter what if 1 or 100 show up!
Some ladies arrive early enough to PIR weekend to plan a lunch or dinner for themselves in addition to the M &G.

I have, and so far Red Carpet Inn had the best price.  Depending on the number of days.  I was looking at Aug 25 to the 28 (because I was not sure how long we had to visit).  This is Thursday to Sunday and the Total including tax was $204.44.  This hotel is also only 1 mile from the base wioth complimentary trans to base for graduation and free continental breakfast.

Hi everyone!  My daughter shipped out the 28th, and I received the letter yesterday.  Ship 07, Division 270.  I am looking forward to talking with all of you here, and then meeting you and your SRs at graduation!

Hello all!  My daughter shipped out 6/27.  She is Ship 07 Div 269.  Loosening the apron strings is one thing but cutting them off, well...let's just say the parenting manual never prepared me for the emotions I've been experiencing!  I knew it would be difficult, but had no idea how hard.  I am, however, a military brat myself, and I can say the admiration and respect I have for her decision is undeniable.  I just don't necessarily like it all the time.  Not the fact that she joined the Navy.....just that she's "gone" and gone really far away......and will be for some time!  That's the hard part to swallow.  I feel like I've lost my daughter and best friend.  I know those emotions will subside, but it's only been a week.  So...with that having been said...I keep a box of kleenex in my car for the unexpected, breakthrough crying sessions! LOL.  I do have to laugh at myself sometimes at how silly my husband thinks I am.  I just have a hard time controlling the flood gates at times!  I think of her all the time and I pray daily...for her and me!  This website has been awesome!  It has been a wealth of information and made me realize that, YES...I will survive this thing, and I can't wait for August 26th!!!  Very, very proud of her!
