Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Is there a place to go that tells you the PT requirements?

BTW...does anyone know if they (SR'S) really get a second chance to take the Run PT? I'd hate for that to hold her back...I'm alittle hesitant to book anything at this point.

Sobe- thanks so much for the update on the grad-n-go info...I like getting all the info I can to prepare..all my sons division is grad n go he said and Im taking the approach like we only have graduation.. so that way any time I get after that will just be a bonus! but Im trying to be prepared on where to go or what to do if he does get a hour or two...want to spend the best quality time with him I can.

Good Morning..I got my phone call friday eve, we chatted for about 30 min. She didnt say alot about any bickering in the Div, her group won something, thats how she got a phone call. She sounded great, passed her swim, failed the run by 2min!! She can do it again in 2 weeks, so hopefully she passes! she blew the other PT stuff away, she's just not a runner! I guess they have Re-Classification this week??? She's def rethinking her choice so maybe she'll get a chance to make a change! She said I could send her shampoo, toothpaste and tweezers, said her RC's were very cool...have you heard of the Shark Tank yet????

California Mom - those uniforms you described are referred to as their "peanut butters". They will be wearing those on Sat & Sun over PIR weekend if they are not a Grad & Go. But on PIR day, they will be in their Dress Whites and must remain in them all day (and at the airport if they are G&G). Any pictures you see with their peanut butters on were taken on Sat or Sun. FYI: All our recruits had to purchase both Dress Whites and Dress Navy Blues (their formal portraits are always taken in their Navy Blues), but they won't start graduating in those wool uniforms until about mid October, when the weather changes. GREAT question!

Does anyone know if our sailors will graduate in their cracker Jack dress whites or if they graduate in the new uniforms the Navy has designed? The new ones are black pants with a khaki short sleeved shirt with a black Garrison hat. You can check it out on YouTube by typing "Navy Uniform" or new navy uniform. The reason I ask is there are some pictures on the boot camp moms discussion site (not OUR PIR Aug, 27th group) that show a recent grad from last Friday's graduating class (July 25th) and he is wearing the new uniform with his entire family surrounding him. Anyone know for sure what they wear at graduation? Just wondering is all.....

CathyJ-Sam'smom: I think that's a great idea! My son's GF and I shared all our letters with each other, but she lived close, so didn't need to scan them. I faxed them to my mom so she could enjoy them too. But since I typed all my letters to him, I kept a folder on my computer AND a folder on my desk (printed a copy) just in case my computer died on me. So, now you know how crazy I am!
