Hey PIR family, I too was thinking it's been 2 yrs. Wow and so agree, I wouldn't of made it thru bootcamp without all the support from this site. With this site, I've made it thru bootcamp, A school and a 8 month deployment. Also new friendships that will last a life time.

My daughter is doing good, she's based in Norfolk,VA on the Ike. She was hoping to come home in Aug, but the carrier's schedule is crazy for the next 4 months. Guess I better book a flight soon.

Happy 4th of July weekend, Congratulations on all the good news.

Yes, two years, can you believe it??!! I hope all are doing well..Gwyn, congrats on the upcoming birth. Susan and Barbara, I know you both are very proud of your children! My son just finished his last school. It's taken two years to get through all the training.

He is now a Petty Officer Third Class and is an aircrew rescue swimmer. He arrived at Virginia Beach 3 weeks ago for his orders. He is with a squadron that is shore-based until they are "called upon" for their services. It's a special warfare squadron and even though he's now with them as his permanent duty station, he is going through more training that is specific to that squadron. I've been lucky in that I've been able to see him in between his schools....but not sure now what it will be like. Most likely will be Christmas.

I'm glad to hear from you guys - let's be sure and keep in touch!

Aaron's girl, so happy to see you guys married and are sharing a life together. You guys have a very nice love story!

Florence, so NICE to have had a visit and sounds like you guys had great time! I love Washington DC. Have been there twice and it's never enough time while there. Want to go back and stay longer.

My son is still in school in San Diego.....he's jumping out of helicopters into the ocean and while he LOVES it, it makes my heart jump into my throat. Yikes. This is pic he sent me....it's taken from inside the helicopter looking down through "hole" into the ocean:
