Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

Tell All your Sailors to BE CAREFUL!!!! Mine was at a mall, a couple stopped them & asked for their military IDs.....they wrote down some info & gave it back. Today we got a credit card in the mail from a Jewelry store. He is pretty sure that is where it came from. There is NO reason they should have to show their Military ID at the mall unless they are being given a discount. BEWARE!!! There are people out there scouting for these fresh recruits...I have a news article on it....If anyone wants a copy send me PM & I'll mail it to you. I forgot them at the hotel for PIR. :(

He also said that he thinks the Eisenhower coat is what they would wear with their "peanut butters".

@Dorothy...that is what my son said when we were in GL. He said that they could not wear the peacoat while they were in bootcamp. I have no idea why though. lol

Nukemom, thank you for clarifing. and that's right, now i remember he said he did have it, they just couldn't wear it for whatever reason...lol

thanks NukeMom! i think he did buy it...so now i've got it straight-- peacoat and Eisenhower coat!!!
Comment by NukeMom on October 7, 2010 at 2:47pm
I spoke to my son today and he said that they all got a peacoat. The only thing they didn't get was an Eisenhower Coat, which is optional and they can purchase it if they want.

Connie---Hey, oh I sent him his phone & chrger, ipod & chrger a,d five pairs of contacts. I wanted to send his computer but he said to wait on that as he didn't want to have to carry much on trip home.
SimplyJRBPcolaAD...I hear what your saying about the cold weather...Maine is heading in that direction also. I brought in my plants this AM, trying to them ready for cold . Glad that you had a chance to chill abit...

well now i am confused. he had on the raincoat as everyone else did and i thought he told me he also had a thick warm wool coat too. i will ask him to clarify what he actually has.

Dorothy-glad to hear you can call Seth...it's such a great feeling to be able to call!

Good morning everyone!
Proudwife - have a safe move :)
Seth recieved his box with cellphone and laptop yesterday. i had tracked it to make sure when it got delivered, but he couldn't pick it up until 630. but i didn't know what time he'd get it so i had tried calling him once at 615 his time and it went right to voicemail, then i called again at 700 his time and he answered and i said, how come you have your phone and you didn't call me??? lol he said mom i don't have signal in my room so i had to come outside to get signal...lol
And if the coats you are talking about are the P coats, no they dont' get issued those. i know when we were at GL, Seth kept saying he wished he had one.
Have a great day ladies!

MKL-I MISS the chatting too; but just don't have the time right now. I should be at work already, I'm chilling a little too. My sailor when to FL, he is LOVING the warm weather down there while those of us here in WI are getting Frosty!!
Proudwife--I pray for safe & enjoyable travels!! :)
Connie-I thought they were issued that coat. Did he buy another?
