Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

Margaret - I haven't seen a separate one for our ship/division.

Margaret (RSJ Mom) I feel your pain. I am at a point of desperation myself. My son is one of my best friends and he keeps me in check. I miss our nightly conversations and at the same time dread getting a phone call for fear something is wrong. He is a strong kid and I know he is capable of doing this and he wants it so bad so, I really want it for him too. But letting go is so hard it hurts.

Hi EileenS - I was reading your post below and thought .... hum, that sounds very familiar?? Those were my words you posted!!! Very funny, but your advice is RIGHT ON! However, we have all learned that ANYONE can google the words bootcamp, RDC, PIR and portions of our comments will come up just on a google search! So, maybe the RDC's can't log on to N4M, but they can google anything they want.

My son asked me to remove his picture this weekend because of his security clearance, he is almost done with A-School. So.... I'm trying to find a picture of me that won't scare anybody!

Good Evening All..I have noticed that there are groups specifically for Ship/Div...is there a group for Ship 13 Div 322...I've searched and I have not located. I'm missing him so much right now and I think I can write a book on "PHASE 1 EMPTY NEST"...Missinag his jovial demeaner, his I don't care attitude, his just do it cause I don't want to hear Momma's mouth...but if I could reach out to another/other parents/loved ones life will be a little settling...SIGH!

Hopefully you all will get letters this week, anyday from Wed to Fri. I've been offline for the last 4 days, needed a break! I love helping on N4M, but if you think going through boot camp once is hard, I've been doing it every week now with a different PIR group - I think I get too attached, because these recruits feel like my own kids - and all of you my family.

Afternoon All,

Just checking in to see how you all are doing.....Please hang in there, letters WILL come soon, I promise. If its not this week, it will be next week for sure. I KNOW so well how hard it is to wait, but yes, no news is good news. Like I said earlier, it takes awhile for them to process in, and then the RDC's want them to get into the " military mode" before they allow letter writing. NOW, in case you didnt already know this, your recruits are reading your letters, they just cant write back yet. So PLEASE write, write, write. Thats what gets them through. Send jokes, photo copies of family or pets, go to your local news stations web sites and print off news thats going on ( Nothing negative or about war etc)...send them baseball scores, movie reviews, encouraging quotes, music lyrics, anything that you think theyd like.
I know your a ways from this but letting you know that its a tradition that the days they do Battlestations at the end, we all light candles for them all night long and usually people use a blue candle. Now, having said that, personally, i have some battery powered candles that I use in our camper and Im going to leave those lit as to not cause a fire overnight. Battlestations is from 7pm 7am and thats what needs to be passed in order to graduate. So everyone prays for everyone DIv's to get through. After Battlestations, you will get a call saying " Im a sailor".....best call of all :))
If there is anything I can do, please let me know

@ibesmom- I hope to see you at PIR also. It will be nice to "know" people there haha. Also, I know nothing about Chicago like you. It sould be a fun experience for me just getting there!

@ribbon queen- I never thought about making a question sheet from them. That is a really good idea because I'm sure he won't remember all of my questions! hah.

@midwestnavymom- It is good to know people who have loved ones in the same DIV. It is so nice to know people who are going through the same thing :)

Chelsey - Your boyfriend and my son are in the same ship/division. This is a great website. I had no idea what to expect and this has answered so many of my questions. You are right, very few people understand what it's like when your loved ones leaves for BC. But people on this site do. The emotions we're feeling are normal...sometimes up and down. Hang in there.

Margaret - Your son and my son are in the same ship/division. That's what I've heard too, "no news is good news." I just want to ask one question (actually more but this is the first one), "Are you OK?" Hopefully this week:-)

I went to the mailbox today hoping, but nothing yet. I suspect not until the end of the week?? It's a waiting game. I feel like a teenager...I have my phone with me all the time!!

I haven't heard from my son yet either. He left just 2 weeks ago. I'm not in a panic about it...just missing him! I'm sure there will be a letter or call soon. Thanks to all you folks for giving us the encouragement, and helping us to be patient. It's hard but not impossible! If not for you, I wouldn't have a clue as to what's actually going on with our kids for these first weeks! I'll just keep writing those letters and checking the mail box! Thanks again!
