Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

BTW - you guys only have 8 divisions, that's a good number! My son had 8 and there were plenty of extra seats. So... we have divisions 317 to 322, the Special Ops division 820 and the Performing division 945. Welcome everyone!

MelandEli - here's the deal on PIR guest list: Only 4 names are allowed to be listed. There are no actual "tickets" to enter - if your name is on the list, and you have ID, you get to go in. Now.... this PIR group is not that big (only 8 divisions), so there is a very good chance that "extra people" will be allowed to go inside, but they have to wait until everyone on this list comes in first to see if there is room. I suggest writing your recruit and having grandma's name inserted on this list and then the name that is removed be the one who stands "in waiting" to get in. They have recruits/sailors who will help escort those who need assistance, but I recommend bringing a walker or wheelchair if you think she'll need it. BTW, kids 12 and under do not need to be on the list and they can come in with you as long as you have their birth cert. So make sure your recruit doesn't waste a spot on the list with a childs name.

If your recruit left behind a girl friend or boyfriend, please make sure the two of you communicate. One of you may be getting more information than the other.

Hi Guys...I know that there are 4 allowed, but now my mother (who previously stated that she would not be able to make it physically - mobility issues) now wants to try to go. That means we will need a 5th ticket. Is this possible? Also, how can I travel with a woman who can walk, but not for long distances? Any tips? I am worried about navigating the airports and even navigating RTC for the graduation. Anybody have any insight?

The box finally came today. No tears this time. At least, not yet. Found his cell phone stuffed into a shoe with his socks holding it there. The other shoe held his sunglasses. Hopefully a letter will arrive soon.

My chiropractor sat down at his computer today, and found us cheap flights to PIR on Southwest. Baggage flies free, and they will change your dates at no charge, if your recruit has a change of graduation date! God bless you, Dr. Robinson! Flights into Milwaukee were cheaper than into Chicago.

Question....my husband and I are trying to make our reservations, and we are trying to figure out how long to stay after the PIR. We do know that Robert is not a grab & go and that his A School is actually there in Great Lakes. Any idea how long after PIR they have to report to A School? I know it probably varies for each recruit, but I was just curious if anyone knew. We want to spend as much time with him as we can.

Hi newmom60, My daughter is in the same division as your daughter :o) I can't wait to hear from her since I am not sure if she is in the choir or color guard.

Hi Everyone!
So glad to find our PIR group on here. My daughter is in division 925. I think someone else on here has a daughter in that division, but I can't find the comment.
