Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

Happy New Year, EVERYONE!!!!  I'm SO excited my busy season is done, gone, over, finished.........Wow & I survived!!    Hope everyone had a great Christmas.  We enjoyed ours, even though our sailor did not come home for Christmas.  He instead went to meet his girlfriend's family.  While he was there (south east TN) they got snow, hadn't had snow for a few decades on Christmas. He enjoyed himself & made it back to base before that East Coast storm got too bad, just in time too, I think.  Now I'm looking at just relaxing for a few weeks & enjoy the quiet!  :)

Well, the days have flown so fast for me...lots of tasks on my Honey List...Youngest son is home now till the 17th then travel him back to college life.He and five friends are heading down to Boston for Bruins game on Monday against the Ducks...Then at the 5AM hour,he and I are driving south to take Bill his car. It's not new but it is nice and he will finally be able to get around Williamsburg without going to buddies for rides.I am looking forward to the trip with Jesse. He plans on sleeping thru to NJ but I bet that won't happen.

From my family to everyone who comes to this site, I wish all a great and

safe holiday season and if you get the chance, hugs those you love...

Dorothy-my how far we have come since our kids left for BC...i think your's will be one of the first from our PIR group to be going overseas. remembering getting ready to go to PIR and you had not received your call....and even my husband was all torqued up about it! but you and the family made it and he was ok and they all graduated...and for a little while, we all got to enjoy seeing our kids when they first became Sailors.

Comment by SimplyJRB-ADs Mom on December 13, 2010 at 2:56pm

MKL, love the anagram!  :)   Dorothy, I'm sorry to hear that he is going overseas.  I know what you mean, I was SO used to my brother coming & going.  Plus having done it with my husband when we were first married.  I really thought that when my own left for basic it would be easy, I know what I'm doing.  Ha---WHO was I kidding??  It is very different!  I'm SO glad you will be able to have time with him before he leaves!!!   And will be thinking of you, with both of them gone!  Please keep us up to date......you'll all be in our prayers!

Yes, I was also a little disappointed that the Keel only had his div & brother div in it.  But our sailor said he knew that it would be like that!  I'm just SO glad it did NOT rain that night that the mailman left it on our front door.  Because it would have been completely ruined!!!

DorothyM...Glad to hear from you...the Keel was so great to look at, sent that down to Bill in Va with one small box and a couple of flannel shits and his dress shoes. This stuff was driven down by girlfriends oldest brother...I was almost ready to stow away...Cold here in Maine and getting ready to get the tree up.

Comment by DorothyM-seabeemom on December 12, 2010 at 12:52am

Hi Ladies...glad to see some action on here..lol  I got the keel book last week, and i was surprised though, i thought it would have all the divisions and not just his and the sister div.  but still great to look at :)

Connie - that wreath is so awesome, i'm sure he'll love it.

Mkl - that sounds like it would have been a wonderful thing to watch.  and i love the Family anagram :)

Simply - glad you had a great visit with your son.

Proud - glad SC is being good to you :)

We are now down to 8 days, well almost 7 now seeing how late it is...lol  and found out tonight that my son's battalion will be going overseas the same time that my husband will be going over.  so really sad tonight thinking both my guys will be gone.  I've been so used to it with my husband, but it's such a different ballgame when it's your kids.

On a really cool note, if any of you watch Extreme Home Makeover, they are here in Central Texas right now, making over a house for one of the soldiers that was shot last year here on Ft Hood.  So i'm hoping to drive that way tomorrow, to see if i can see any of it.  Should be really cool!

Well guess i'll head to bed now.  have a great upcoming week!
