Welcom Navy Loved ones! This site is so helpful for support and finding information and sharing information. Being a Navy Mom and Wife is such an honor. It isn't always easy to wait to hear from them, or to know that they have been, or will be in harms way, but we couldn't be more proud of our boys. The youngest boy said recently, "it feel pretty awsome to be part of something so big, and respected"... He is still in boot camp... My oldest has served three years and is a wonderful young man, who now believes serving their country is something all young men should do. We are so proud of all of our NAVY sons, husbands, daughters and wifes, boyfriends and girlfriends... Please share, ask questions, and enjoy the support provided by Navy for Moms.

Good morning everyone! Hope you are all doing well.
Connie, that is too funny about the pet slug..lol
Tezob - i work for Jackson Hewitt
Midwest - my sons hasn't been in the paper yet either. i contacted the recruiter and asked them if they do it or do i. they said they would do it. so i had my daughter take a picture down to them, i gave them all the info, and nothing yet. it's been like 3 weeks. so i'm calling today, and will just tell them that if they don't do it, i want the pic back and i'll do it myself....i'm tired of waiting, it's been a month for crying out loud.
Glad all you ladies are getting to go spend Thanksgiving with your kids, that's great. I so wish we could, but i have so much training going on before and after, i can't possibly get away. it would have been nice though because son's bday is nov 30th, and we could have had a double celebration. this will be his first bday away from home, so it kinda makes me sad.
I hope you all have a great day, and possibly week if i don't get on here again this one...lol

I contacted our paper they said they would not print a picture, & would print what came from RTC when there was space available. Have not seen it yet! :(

MidWest-We sent in the announcement ourselves. At first we thought the recruiter might do it, but was informed they don't do that, that it had to come from the parents. I just emailed it to the paper along with the picture. They didn't even re-write it but used the exact text we sent in. Good thing too since our town paper is almost famous for changing things around, and not always accurately. lol!

PatriciaT - Did you put the announcement in? Or did it come from RTC?
Comment by PatriciaT on October 22, 2010 at 8:55pm
Our son's announcement was in our local paper along with his picture a few weeks ago. Whaletalkers had sent out a template of a very good format which we used. Naturally we bought a dozen copies of that paper--enough for everyone's scrapbooks!

Has anyone's newspaper published the graduation announcement yet? Just curious.
