Hey Y'all!
It's great to see the progress in the kids' careers! Aus is just finishing up Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, CT next week. Then I think there is something called Techno (?), and then A school starts. Seems like he'll be there about a year altogether before there is even a thought about assigning him to a sub. ARG. A long way from Colorado. He says is is green, beautiful and HOT. Great to hear from youse guys!

Ladies, it so wonderful to hear all the good reports about your sailors. I can hardly believe that just a few months ago we were worrying ourselfs sick over our boys. What amazing young men we raised. Alanna congrats on your sons graduation from A-School. How proud you must feel and how exciting that you will get to have him home with you for a few weeks. Everyone lets keep in touch......I love to hear how well everyone is doing.

Hello everyone, glad to hear all the good news about your sailors!! My son is graduating from A school tomorrow. He will officially be Master of Arms, and then on his way home to San Francisco for a couple of weeks. He will then be going to Pax River Naval Airbase for two years. Good Luck to all of your sailors.

Lori- yup...working on getting it all together again! Good thing is that my "main boss" has been out of town this week...so it's easier. I just need to actually UNPACK! I SUPER HOPE you get to see P over Labor Day weekend...I hope he can make it work out. I know it'd be special for all of you to get time together. I hope things are going SUPER WELL for you.

Katie...I hope it works out for you next weekend to see him. I just decided about 10 min ago that we're going down to NC to see Jordan next weekend! I know we have a limited amount of time and I want to make the most of it! :) Please give Jake our best when you see him. You are SO BLESSED to live so close to GL!

I think we need to stay in touch better!!!!

Lori- Jake could be done in about a month if he doesn't get put on hold after he completes his Mock training and specialized traing for EN. I was hoping for a little more time in having him in GL seeing he is so close but he is so ready to get on with his Navy career. I think we are going to try and go down next weekend (his duty free weekend) but we won't know till next week.
Marilyn, I imagine there is a chance many of our boys will cross paths somewhere along the way and when they do we'll know about it because of this site.....
Comment by lori on July 22, 2010 at 4:29pm
Katie- I have no idea what 'Mock' is but Paul is still in ATT but coming to the end
hopefully in a few weeks. He then will be on hold for A and hoping to start in Sept. One guy just graduated BC and went start into ATT 2 weeks later! The holds maybe getting shorter.
We are hoping he's coming home for a long Labor day weekend since he'll be finished with ATT but he said he won't know till sometime in Aug and puts his chit in.

Marilyn- good to see some activity on our 'ole PIR site! Thanks for posting!
Miss you girl... getting back to the routine after being away?

YEAH!! Good for him!! Sounds like things are coming together well. Funny how just a few months ago we were SO worried about them getting through BC!

We saw J once too...went down to SC where he was doing his A school. We PLAN to go see him a few times in NC, as it's closer! I want to get as many hugs as I can before he leaves for overseas!

Please keep me updated on Jake! Maybe he and Jordan will cross paths someday. :)

Marilyn, That is wonderful - way to go J! You must be very proud of him. Jake is still in Great Lakes at A-School. Will be finishing up Mock 6 & 7 then he will be doing the 12 days of special training and then who knows? May be on his was to a duty station or on hold. He's loving the Navy and doing very well in school. Although we live so close we have only seen him once since PIR......boo hoo. Talk or text him often, which is really nice. Glad to hear you and yours are doing so well.......

Katie
