Terri- can you give me the link to the story? And you did mean "dead" not "dean" right?

Very sad news, Daniel slept next to my son Chris (Ship 14 Div 200) I'm speachless. Daniel Diaz age 20 Hospitalman found dean in his barrack. The article is in the Navy times. Dec 10. Does any one know if his mom was on here?

Tina...thank you so much for taking the time to post this and give us an update on Austin. I know having him home where he is safe and you can assist him in getting the help and support he needs most must be such a relief. Like Lori said - he will be on my heart and in my prayers. I hope he can find joy there again. :)

Please let us know how things go with finding a job and whatever else he may have ahead for him in his life! I'd LOVE to get updates occasionally!

All the best in this upcoming Christmas season.

Tina, I am so sorry to read this. This has been a long road for Austin and I'm sure known of you would have expected this. Please tell him I send him my prayers for his future and thank you for the long months he served.
Thank you for letting us know this news- I would hate to think you would have just vanished and we would never hear from you again.

Well, it's been quite the thanksgiving at our house this year. We picked Austin up at the airport at noon. He has received an honorable discharge from the Navy because of his depression.

We are delighted to have him back with us, and he is glad to have a positive resolution. None of us anticipated anything like this when he left for Basic. It has a been a difficult and sometimes frightening 7 months. Both he and I have met some fabulous people - you all! - and for that we are grateful.

Thank you for your support and kindness. You and your kiddos will always be in my prayers.

Marilyn, thank yo so much. I will definately let you know Jakes plans. He acts like it's no big deal if he's alone but I would feel so much better knowing he was with someone celebrating too. I posted on the GL site if anyone had a son or daughter that needed a family that they are welcome to come to us seeing we are only 2-1/2 hours from GL. It will be weird not cooking for a crwd like I normally do. I'm sure in every location around the world there are families opening up their homes for our sailors........I'll keep you posted.
