Yes the bootcamp website is full of information for graduation day. We are planning on leaving home at 3:00 am so we get down there in plenty of time. We're allowing lots of time so we get there and can relax a little before the ceremony. We are going to have to pull my son out of school two days seeing he has a whole week yet in June before summer vacation. He's so sad about that.....HaHa

I found the info here (http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/grad_day.asp) to be helpful, as well as the "What to Wear/Bring to PIR listed above this under 'discussion forum'.

Rebecca- from what I've read you want to be leaving not much later from the hotel [ or where ever] to get to the PIR by 7:00am. Gate opens at 6:15 and the whole thing starts at 9:00. You can do it- tired out- but the adrenalin will be flowing once you get there.

The letter with the PIR date and other address info was in the form letter that your recruit sends you. It will be addressed by them to you and should have (in their hand writing) their address which will include the ship and division. hope this helps!

Did you get your letters with the ship/dividion and PIR dates in the box or mail?

http://military-hotels.us/ i found this link to a website that lists hotels outside of military bases. It was very easy to use. I noted that one of the Marriott hotels is already sold out for our weekend. Since there are no fees and they spell out the cancellation policies everyone should look at it and book right away. You can cancel later if you need to.

My box arrived today, April 13, Chris arrived at Great Lakes on April 7th, No underwear, No cell phone, and no form letter. Hmmm!!! It didn't make me sad I just hugged the clothes like he was in them. Mmm good!

Nancy (Maryland)- It can't be long now before the letter arrives. You're not that far away (relatively speaking)- wonder what the hold up is. Be sure to let us know when you get it!
