While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

hi there .I am so glad you answered my post.WE will be at the meet and greet if we can .we are staying at the ramada but i do not know what time we will be there thurs night ,we are driving out from massachusetts . I hope all our kids are surviving hell week .We got a letter yesterday from my son he seems to be adjusting ok and is very glad he chose the navy

Hi!...My son is Ship12/Div 260.....I spoke to him a few days ago...and he has passed everything...graduation is tomorrow...i cannot make it becasue of my job and feel horrible....am hoping there are other recruits he can spend time with and things to do so he will not feel as bad...I feel like crying...miss him and wanted to be there desperately...but couldnt...are you going?....Debi

I'm new here too! My hubby is Ship12/Div259. I've gotten to talk to him 3 times and have gotten 3 letters. According to him all is well other than someone got caught with candy wrappers in their uniform, so they all had to pay for that. I worry that he only tells me the upbeat and none of anything else cause he doesn't want to upset me. So, this maybe is his "hell week" too? Oh, I really didn't answer any questions, just did a lot of rambling! :O)

Hi cath(Ship12Div260)My son is in div 259...PIR 7/30/10. Have you heard "when" Battle Stations is? I've recd. letters from my son, seems all going ok, however, stressful as they are having many tests, inspections, etc..if you hear "when" bs is, please post. thanks. Momce(ship12/div259)

Jaclyn, My son is Ship 12/Div 259, we've recd several letters, two calls. He mentioned candy wrapper incident too. He says things are a bit stressful as they are going through the last paces of test, inspections,etc.) He kinda joked that their group "can't march"..ha! and tomorrow is marching inspection (his last letter dated 7/13). I think everyone is working hard and doing their best and "things" are tough as they near graduation. If your hubby mentions when Battle Stations (BS) is, please post it...BS is the last big hurdle before officially becoming a "sailor". Thanks Momce

Momce, Yeah, my hubby mentioned that marching seemed to be a challenge for this group.. lol..and that there was a lot of yelling during weapons training because some weren't being serious about it. If I hear anything about BS, I will for sure post it! It makes me feel not as lonely reading that someone else knows about Ship12 Div 259.

Good morning -- and it really is because the son called for a few minutes this morning and if that isn't the nicest way to start a day I don't know what is!! He is Ship 10 Div 256 - they are all doing well -- lots with the crud - my son told me in the last questionaire -- "got over the crud -- caught it again.....lol :-).......have some flags to their credit and looking forward to the Capatain's Cup (usually a "field day" the last saturday with competitions between the divisions) Battle stations for them on Monday the 26th -- and yep -- a really busy schedule with final tests.....

HI I, received my call this morning at 9:oo am, the phone woke me up and when I heard his voice I screamed out his name with excitement and woke the entire house up. Boy was I happy, I was beginning to worry alot because we had not yet received a phone call, just letters and I know that it has been tough, hot, and frustating for them. My son told me his feet are bleeding and that he has the "crud" also, he says that he is using chap stick on it as they don't have medicine and that he is okay and going to tough it out. We are very proud of him and can't wait for graduation on 7/30/10. We have reservations at the Ramada Inn and hope to arrive on thursday 7/29/10 evening, hopefully on time for the meet and greet. We have rented a car and are traveling from Berkley, Massachusetts, 30 minutes south of Boston, Mass. Kev says most of the recruits are from Florida, Texas, and Mexico. What does one wear to the PIR, from what I gather it is extremely hot and humid out there, should we wear dress clothes or business casual, would sundresses or capris be appropriate? We are counting the hours until we get to hug him, he already sounds different on the phone, he has lost 10 pounds and says he is a "beast". Do you know if the parents are allowed to attend this captain's cup competition? I pray all goes well for the firefighting and gas chamber tests this week for all the recruits and that "battlestations" goes off without a hitch for division 256.

Hi - My son is Ship 6 Div 937. I asked about the dress code for PIR on the RTC page on Facebook and was told you can wear anything from shorts to business attire. They suggested maybe capri pants and comfortable shoes - there's a lot of walking, I guess. The most important thing is to dress in whatever is comfortable for you. It will probably be hot and humid!

Has anyone heard when Battle Stations is for Ship 12/Div259, recd several letters from my son, but, no mention of "date" for bs. If anyone knows, please post, as I want to wait "all day/all night", to rec phone call the day they complete bs. and hear he is "officially a sailor". This is a tough time for our recruits and pretty tough on us too. (sigh). Momce

As far as i know Battle Stations are Mon 7/26 and Tues 7/27 at least my sons SHIP 10/DIV 265 is having it then ,his PIR is scheduled for 7/30

Thank you desi10256 for reply. Well, I guess I'll be staying home 7/26. & 7/27. unless I rec a call or letter before w/exact date of BS. PIR on 7/30 will be here soon. Wishing your son (and all PIRs for 7/30) the Best and Success for BS. From watching the video of previous PIR, people wear anything from casual to dressy. My understanding PIR 7/30 is the first time we are allowed to be on base. MomceShip12/Div259
