You know I haven't heard from Rick in about a week. No phone calls no letters... it's about to drive me crazy!!!
I hate to hear that your son has been so sick! The last I had heard from Rick he had been sick and SIQ as well. I think it's mostly because they are living in such close quarters. Viruses are so communicable in those kinds of enviroments. Bless his heart, to be so sick on such a hard day for him anyway.

I am glad you heard from him. I am starting to get quite concerned that it's been a week with not even a letter...

Good idea on the questionaire thing. I think I will try it and that way get all my questions answered. My son's old drama teacher writes a column for the newspaper and wrote her column about him this week. It was very touching and it made me very proud!

The Public Affairs Office is the PAO... that is who I called about his check. I am assuming they are the contact for this kind of stuff. Yeah, no fun especially with little ones. :(

pay info.

As soon as I heard my wife was getting paid as an E-1 I called and questioned her recruiter. He said that shouldn't be the case because her contract says she goes in as an E-3. I don't know because now I have heard on the forums a couple of times that they get paid as an E-1 while at basic training. Since I don't have her LES I don't know what the deal.

BAH

Now this is a subject of contention. I was told by all the recruiters in her recruiters office that we would get BAH while she is at bootcamp and A-school. I even asked their chief when he came around for the DEP meetings. They all said yes, you will get BAH. I have read on the forums that no, you do not get BAH. Again, since I haven't gotten her LES I don't know. I have heard though that BAH will be paid, just after the fact.

My advice is to not expect it and if you get it great. That is what I told the chief after quizzing them all about what she will get paid. I will call the recruiters again tomorrow and see what the deal is.

Courtney, what is a PAO? We don't have little ones so I can imagine you are having a crappy time with all this. Sorry.

Does anybody know if there is a number we can call at GL to find out about this stuff? It would be nice if the married soldiers had a contact for somebody if there was a problem with this kind of stuff. The Red Cross cannot do much for us unless someone either dies or becomes seriously ill.

Got a letter today, my son is doing well, but again didn't get much info about what is going on. His letter was very upbeat, but he is still pretty homesick!
