Gspengleri-

It sounds like our situation is exactly the same. My hubby said that he will be paid as an E-3... WHEN I get his paycheck, I will let ya know ;). Also, I called the PAO and let them know that we did not get paid (we have 2 children and were planning on income 2-1). I was told they will get the message to him to have him "fix" it with the bank. I am not sure what the next step is, but I felt like he needed to know ASAP.

RicksWife,
Thanks, I told her on the phone last week about the DEERS but I wrote it again tonight in a letter so she remembers. Maybe if the RDCs do in fact read this they will say something also to their c.o.c. I cannot imagine having to remember this stuff if I was in GL going through training.

I don't imagine my wifes first few paychecks will be correct either. She wrote me telling me she wouldn't get paid as an E-3 during basic training but as an E-1. I immediately called her recruiter and he said she must have heard wrong. I asked her on the phone last week and she said that is what they were told. Has anybody here heard their recruit family member say that? If their contract says they went in as an E-3 or even E-2 but will not get paid at the pay rate??? Not that I should be worried about that, she has yet to get paid. lol..

They just had their midway asessments last week. The scale was 0 to 5.0.
They had small arms this week. If you go on the Navy Times web site there is a VERY interestin article that describes BS21 in complete detail!!! Very good article written just after the Trayor was brought into service!

Gspengleri- our check was not right last week and I know of another wife who didn't get anything so you are not the only one. Also neither one of us have received our DEERS package yet either. When I spoke to his recruiter about the issue he said all I could do was write Rick and tell him what happened and let him handle via the chain of command. he also said I should have received my DEERS packet by now. His only advise about everything was write your recruit. (hope thats helpful but I doubt it lol)

has anybody heard if they have done their final physical fitness test yet or have you heard when it is?

Thank you everyone who posted info on the BS21 that was very informative! Good luck to all the boys and girls who are in. They're almost there! :)

who should I call about the DEERS? Please don't say her recruiter. Last week before I got a letter his response was she is most likely mad at you so she wont write!!

I checked our account today and yesterday, no paycheck!! Oh well, when I was enlisted I went on vacation during a PCS and didn't get paid when vacation was over for over a month in Germany, good times!! Good thing I have a job and we don't have any kids!

ok I had to dig out my sons letter. On Jan 24, he said the day was 2-sun. He said tomorrow (Jan 25) will be 3-1 because they didnt count the first week because of processing. which makes today 4-2.
