I read somewhere that they all just love to yell at the recruits for one thing or another!! That they will FIND something to yell at them about!! My son's recruiter told him exactly what you said b rickard - shut up and head down!! - and you will go far!!!

Rickswife,
thanks, yeah I am super proud of her. I did mine and trying to get back in. Lost 15, that is crazy, they haven't been there that long! Oh well, my wife wanted to get new cloths, now she'll need to!! I know she is having a rough time with it, but I told her to let it go over her head, that's what the older ones have to remember. It's always the younger ones that don't get it sometimes. I told her to remember one thing before she left, keep your mouth shut and head low, and you'll be fine. That is the most important info before leaving for any service basic training, the RDC love the ones that don't shut up and listen, it makes them happy because they get to smoke them all and try and teach team spirit and team playing.
I loved Army basic training. It was awesome.
My wife said in her letter she wrote last sunday, but couldn't mail it because she missed the mail call because she was doing some paperwork. So if you don't get one I guess they may get a chance to write, but may not get to mail it if they are busy doing other work, nice. Not cool in my mind.

Oh and hey Debbie I hope so!!! I wrote him back and told him not to lose his cool- it was almost over. I imagine a lot of it has to do with the age difference. That and the fact that Rick is like a big, burly, quiet, soft spoken, sponge- he just holds it all in and then unloads on me. This will be good for him in a way because he might actually find his voice- I just hope he doesn't find his temper LOL

Welcome aboard b rickard!! We are happy to have you! I have found it very consoling to hear what the other recruits are sharing with their families. Along the way it has given me insight as to what my son is doing! And made it all a little easier to deal with!

b rickerd- First of all welcome to our group!!!!! Yes we are all very tuned in- we keep the buzz alive! It keeps us all from going insane missing our loved ones! I personally am glad to hear from you as my husband is in the same division as your wife. And he as well is much older, 33. I am glad to know it's just not him being down but also discouraged that they are staying in so much trouble. I too hope they get it together. He was veryu fit before he left as a former body builder but he says even he has lost 15 lbs from all the PT they have had to do due to trouble. Ship 7 Div 105.
Hooray for your wife for the big 30! Me too this year! She's pardon my french a hell of a woman because there is no way! I could handle this stuff LOL

Hello,
First, I am a husband of a SR at GR. She is Ship 07 Div 105.
Sorry, I know I am not a mom, but you guys are awesome. This is the first group I could find on the internet with daily updates. Thank you very much. It helped a lot yesterday since I hadn't gotten a letter yet. I did however get my first today. I see a red thread here! My wife is really mad at her division as well, lots of talking and messing around.
By the way, she turned 30 the week after getting to GL!! Yippy for her!! I wish all of you the best and cannot wait until the end of this torture! For them all and us all!

Thanks for sharing that info JuneBug!! So glad to hear your recruit is doing well!!!

Well RicksWife - that all sounds a little discouraging. I am hoping that they turn the corner soon!!

I received seven letters today and in every single one he was so mad at his division. He says they are either gonna get quiet or die LOL They had what they call an "Ice Cream Social". It was obviously very bad. Every chief, RDC, RPOC in the RTC came into their division and screamed and yelled. He sounds very put out. My husband is such a quiet and reserved person- I don't think I have ever heard him so upset. He said he was almost ashamed of his own division. I'm truely concerned. I hope they get their act together or they or going to continue going through hell.
