We got two single page letters today and my son's girlfriend said she also got a letter....about 3 pages long. My son also sounds upbeat....says food is not bad, they do lots of PT but not as bad as he was expecting. Now, I can't wait for aphone call

Thank you LORD! I got 2 letters today in one envelope! I was cryin' all kinda tears! He sounded a little homesick but the first few weeks are always the hardest. I feel so much better now! He said if every one in Ship7 Div105 passed their test this week they would get an hour to call us over the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! Pray ladies, Pray hard!

To all of you who haven't received letters yet, may the mailman be kind to you tomorrow! Hang in there!

sarah's mom - hang in there...hopefully you'll get one tomorrow.... It's been a long time since I've watched for the mailman like I do these last 3 weeks! Just keep writing...they need those letters worse than we do.

cudawn -- that's a great idea getting all his friends to write notes and then including them all in a big envelope...
keljacmom -- i know it's hard not to be upset, but think how upset your son must feel to finally get to call and nobody answers...I'm hoping he calls you the next chance he gets! :)

Nothing from my Matthew yet.....but I am sooo happy for all of you that have heard from their kids/hubbies. My son was NEVER much of a writer - it is kinfd of a struggle for him to write anything!!! But I am hopeful that he will forward a note shortly.
DIDDRAA - that wisdom teeth thing has me worried. My son has 1 remaining ( -was left cuz root was wrapped around the facial nerve) so I really don't want them to try to remove it.

Yes Bittersweetmomma it is!

Angel, I guess I'm lucky with respect to no girlfriend to have to share with. They broke up a few months before he left. But hopefully she'll share with you and you can become closer.. My son let me know that he really really misses our dog the most! hmmmmm guess I know where I rank! :) I'll keep my fingers crossed that Angel gets a letter soon!

Got a letter today too!!!!! He sounds upbeat and asked alot of questions about how everyone is. He said that we should go ahead and write as much as we can...doesn't sound like he's gotten any of our letters yet...(?) :( . He said he might be able to take leave before he goes on to his next phase...but I thought I read somewhere that they don't get leave after boot campt (except for around holidays)..does anyone know the policy on this?
He said he has blisters on his feet because they march all the time in their boots. He said they don't yell too much if you do what you're told to do...(sounds a little bit like home, huh?) All in all - a great letter (short), but I'm happy with it.... I'm so glad to hear you other ladies are getting mail today too!
