Hi All! Just checking in after a long absence. Read all your posts and it sounds like everyone is progressing ( as much as their specific situation will allow) and I sincerely hope all are healthy and happy. My sailor is in A school in Monterey so I am very fortunate to have him relatively close. Just a 3.5 hour drive away! In fact, he is coming home tomorrow night for the weekend. School is extremely hard and my sailor is trying his very best - he has enlisted the necessary tutors and signed up for extra help but I am worried just a little bit for him. Very important test next Friday - please cross your fingers for him. He also has found l-o-v-e! Bringing home a sailor girl with him this weekend! We have met her before - very smart/sweet girl and ironically is from mine & Ken's hometown. Looking forward to spending time with the both of them.
Take care and best wishes to all ( I won't wait so long next time to check in!)

Wow, it's amazing how many different routes everyone can go once they graduate from BC. It sounds like everyone is doing great! My husband Adam is still in GL for A school. He classed up last week and is now estimated to be there for another 6 months. I can't believe 6 months have gone by already without him here at home. Thanks goodness for technology! I am due in September so we get to see him for a wonderful 10 days then. :) Best wishes to everyone and their families :)

Yes, he is GL still. He will be there all year and then some. We decided not to move to GL and stay put in SD. I am hoping his orders will bring him back here.. who knows. We are looking forward to having him home for the arrival of the baby in September! I can't fly out to see him for too much longer b/c of being too far along... so now it's his turn, lol! :)

oh no...that sounds terrible navyblumom... all that schooling and hard work just to be undesignated? :( I hope none of our sailors have to go through that after A school. I was going to send a fruit bouquet for all the guys in the room (I know it's not the manliest of things.. but healthy!) and my hubby discouraged it, he said he didn't know how it could be delivered on base. September will be here before you know it, then you can see your son :) My hubby gets to come home then also for the birth of our baby, yay!

PS Dereck has so many more classes to go thru that we dont think they will ever end, but finally closing in on C school, then will get his duty assignment. Hopefully it will be somewhere close so we can visit often.

My husband is doing great in GL, he will there right along with navyblumom's son for a while. I have to ask him today when he'll finish ATT.. it should be soon. He loves his "ship" and gets along with his roommates great. I tease him that it is like he is in college again. I have seen him once since PIR and will see him again in July. So far so good! :)

Hey all! It has been a couple months since I was on last, I hope all is going well with everyone. Wow the guys are getting their orders already? Dereck Graduated Sub school three weeks ago, was salutatorian of his class. He just got classed up again for Advanced technical training, and will be in that class for another 8 weeks. In all, he will be going to classes for almost two years before he even reaches a duty station.

Myself, well, I am loving being back home in Florida. Business as usual- work, beach- sleep.

OZMom, great to hear your son is getting married, tell him much congratulations!
Colleen, I am sure your son is finally glad to be starting school. It has been a long hold!
Its glad to see that everyone is doing well and adjusting to this new military life that our children have brought us into. I will try to check back sooner than another 2 months!
