Courtney sorry to hear of troubles!! I have been receiving pay but no DEERS packet. I'm not overly concerned about our BAH. Financially we are fine so he can deal with it when he gets to A school. I feel like I am out of time on my DEERS packet because there is no way I could write to him and him get it sent back out to me before I leave next Wed. So I am chalking it up to a loss for right now. We'll worry about it when he gets out of A school.
I guess we were lucky that we received our pay like we did. Thank God I opened up an account with USAA before he ever left. They have been so awesome! By far the best advice the recruiter gave me!

Too bad they are not able to help us with out DEERS and pay info... I think that should be part of their job. I suppose we could all write and raise hell but it probably wouldn't do much good. Surely they have heard this all before, and aren't going to change it now.

G and Amber- let me share my experience with the no pay/ no DEERS. I was in your boat come Feb 1st and was panicking of course. Then, I wrote him everyday, "no DEERS and no PAY" still trying to remind him not to worry. I even called the Public Affairs Office to see if they could get the word to him (now I know they never did). I received my Deers on the 4th b/c my husband told them and they let him send another one out to me ( he said the first one probably got lost) the envelope was in his writing, so I assume they let him got to the office to do it, i don't know. Then, by the 5th, he received news from my letters that we still didn't get paid and he said he was so sad for us. He received his paystub on the 1st and it said he got paid and assumed all was well, but it wasn't. I got a call from him on the 9th and he said that he told his chief of the situation and that they let him go and fix it. He told me we would receive 2 weeks pay in the next couple of days, but get all the rest of the pay come March 1st. Ok, so what happened was that the routing number for our bank was wrong and our pay was sent back. He opened his account in a city 2 hours away 10 years ago. The form he needed was from that bank. He went to a different branch close to the recruiting office a couple days before he left for BC and that is why it was wrong. Sorry for the lengthy explanation, but maybe that is what happened with your pay and DEERS also. I have received more calls from him b/c he has needed so much paperwork for the kids, the bank, etc. Yesterday, he told me they passed their tests and they got to call. Maybe it is a whole division or none type of thing to get priviledges to call.. or it could be tougher RDC vs. nicer. All I know, is that if they aren't doing well, they can call, so like i said before no news is probably good news, it is just the waiting part that is most difficult for all of us. oh and for all spouses out there, I am strongly considering getting P of A over my hubby b/c this could have all been resolved earlier if I did. I hope everyone has a good day today, gate passes and single digits here we come!!!!

lol yo quero taco bell....... what an image you gave me Amber!!!! I understand there is a department up there that you can call to find out about the DEERS packt, tho I couldnt give you any information on it. If you havent received pay, they may make all payments on the first of March, Where was it that I read someone else hadnt received either of theirs (pay or DEERS) and they called the Department and told them that they make a double payment on March 1. I'll reread and get back to you on that.

Funny that Rick says the same thing. But he knows Samson is just too much of a horse to try and travel that far. I wouldn't mind if I were traveling with Rick but he is just too much to handle by myself.

Berry~ It's the Residence Inn, there is a shuttle to PIR and hot breakfast. Everything I have heard about them sounds great. I think it's approx. 2 1/2 miles to the base which is a plus. They have everything from a standard room to a 2 bedroom suite. I opted for the 2 bedroom suite and it is till a very reasonable price. Oh and if you still have your military ID they give a discount to us. (of course my DEERS packet never came)

Amber, what hotel is letting you bring your doggie? My wife keeps asking when she will get to see her dogs again and I want to bring them but cannot find a decent close hotel that will let me have them there.

I sat down last night and wrote Richard I know about 10 pages! I told him it was probably one of the last ones I would write because I would be with him soon. I was so happy to write that letter! I figure Wed. I will write my final letter as it won't get there till the first of next week. Then they will be busy with battle stations... and the capping ceremony... and the phone call! LOL I feel like a yappy little chihuahua dog on speed! LOL I can't wait till next week!!!
