Matt met his fiancee' while he was in Pensacola. They actually where in BC together but different divisions so they didn' know each other then. She is really sweet and spent last Christmas with us. We already feel like she is a part of the family and they will make it official on "Navy time" not sure how that is going to work trying to find a time that they can get leave approved for the same time. That is great about Eddie I bet he can't wait to get out of A school and get started on his job either. Have you seen him since he has been in A school?

Thanks Lynn! Matt has been in Pensacola since August '09 and graduated A school on May 20. He has been able to work at the musuem on base since he graduated but he is ready to move on to his duty station. The only thing Washington is a whole lot further from Texas than Florida but Whidbey is where his fiancee' is stationed and of course he wanted to be close to her. What is Eddie's rate?

Hello everyone! One year ago yesterday I was at a car show for the Humane Society and I received my first call from BC and today I was at the same car show and received the call that Matt received his orders and he will be stationed at Whidbey Island for C school and as his duty station. Wow what a year it has been.

Our son graduated A school on May 20 and is on hold in Pensacola right now. He is an ATI Petty Officer 3rd Class. He started working at the museum on base last Thursday. He will have C school before being assigned to his duty station which he hopes is Whidbey Island because that is where his fiancee' is at. Congratulations Dona and Jonie on gettting to see your sons soon.

Hi everyone! My son is still in Pensacola. He finished his college courses in December so didn't start A school until he got back in January. Graduation is in May and then it looks like he will be on hold for 3 months or so until he leaves for C school. That is okay with me though because right now he is only 7 hours away so we make the trip every couple of months to go see him. I don't know what I will do when that isn't possible anymore. Hope everyone's sailors is enjoying their duty stations.

Eddie's Momma sorry to hear about your niece - what a tragedy. I am glad that Eddie is doing so good. Matt said that he definitely did not want to be in BC in the winter and his A school is in Florida. His recruiter told him that you couldn't put on enough clothes to stay warm in the winter in GL. We live in Texas and we don't have to deal with a lot of cold weather.

Carolina,I hope things work out for you and your daughter to get home. Our son graduated A school in Port Hueneme in Nov. and was supposed to come home on a nonstop flight. then he realized the ticket back was to Gulfport. His orders were for Coronado-San Diego. So then he had to wait for another ticket. By then the rates had increased and he had layovers on the way to Ga. and on his way back to Calif. He is going to be stationed there 36 mos.-Seabees-CM.
