Div 265=we got a letter today, too. He said he enjoyed the cards-I sent 2or 3 every day last week because he complained in a previous letter that I was getting lazy about writing! Same news-pictures this week-passed all his PFAs and ran faster this last time than his frist test. Did well on the 9mm-sounded very proud of himself for that. He said Tues. was to be the "hard" part and that is all downhill after that. He is ready to get it over with, but said the time is going by a little faster now since they are busy training more. He thought he would be able to call today, but he would call his wife. I talked to her tonight and she said he hasn't called, though. He says he is good and he is fine. He is looking forward to seeing everybody at PIR and hopefully his wife will have news of whether baby is going to be a boy or girl. She is to have the ultrasound on Tues. before PIR. Hope you other ladies still waiting to hear will get letters or calls this weekend!

Hi everyone! My son Matt is in DIV 265 I received 2 letters from him today. He said that they went through Marlin Spike last week and personal inspection and weapons turnover inspection. This information was dated 7/7. The other letter stated that last week was "hell week". They had small arms simulation and live fire training and they were scheduled to take pictures 7/13. This week they have the "Chamber of Confidence", damage control and drill inspection. He said he was actually ready for the gas chamber because his sinuses have been stopped up and maybe that would clear them up. We still don't know what the plans are for after PIR.

Looking forward to Thursday-letter day! 2 weeks ago my son (DIV 265) said he had the gas chamber and sharp shooting coming up. The letter after that he said he passed everything so I hope that part is over!

There is Mom who works as civilian on the GL base-Sue- Purple Pig-look her up-I asked her about this because my son has had that job of standing watch and mentioned he hoped he did not get that assignment during PIR. She assured me that no recruit stands watch during the cermony so---
On another note-does anyone else have a recruit who is a CM? It seems that every acronym I put in Navy speak I get the message sorry...not recognized?

I don' tknow when they will have pictures, but in my son's letter today he said their dress uniforms havd not come back from the tailor's yet.

Are you talking about meeting after we take our sailors back to base? That sounds like a good idea.

Got a LETTER! Yea! Thursdays-letter days!! He sounded to be in very good spirits-said he was still doing good, actually better! He gets a 3-day weekend liberty because he doesn't leave for 5 days after PIR to A school. I am so anxious to see him and hear his voice-I still love that countdown clock!! :D Some Moms asked about the button-I ordered from zazzle.com on the right side of this page. I hope we get to at least meet each other-I know we will want to spend most of our time with the recruits and family.

Carolina Tarheel I am one of the Moms from 265.
I ordered one of the Navy for Mom. com buttons from the link on this site. I am planning to wear that - I customized the colors with an aqua background and navy text-so if you see that it might be me.
