~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option.

~It is also a good idea to change your visibility settings for your Profile Page (MY PAGE) to "Just my friends".

@My Little Bird, i last talked to my SR on Tuesday the 16th. He got a 5-min call. I was thinking next week was career week. But I don't really know what to think unless it comes directly from him. So what happens this week? This will be week 5 for them, right?
Comment by My Little Bird on May 26, 2017 at 11:48pm

@brynne21 I am flying in Wednesday and leaving Monday and YES! Will definitely make the meet and greet. Did your son call you Monday night? My son said, next week is hell week and everyone is stressed out...

@My Little Bird, my son is in DIV 200 as well. I don't know if he has gotten any letters from any of us. Will you be at Meet & Greet that Friday the 22nd? My husband and I will be there. We are flying in Wednesday and out Sunday night. I'll be glad to meet some other parents/family and their SR's.

@Mozzie, sorry didn't mean to make you cry...he is the baby. I have other children, but my parents raised them after my husband passed and I raised my little bird by my lonesome...it has been me and him against the world. He buys me flowers and takes me on dates...I miss him sooo much.

My son is in Div 200 and he has yet to get mail. I spoke to him Monday for 30 seconds and he was frustrated. I sent him a phone card so, maybe when the mail starts coming around he will be able to have a longer phone call. I miss him a lot...I slept in his room last night...it was clean before he left, but I find myself going in there regularly so, my some of my things are in there now...wondering if he is going to occupy it ever again or what the future holds for my baby boy.

We will be coming in but are leaving Saturday (before our son leaves on Sunday from O'Hare to Goose Creek).  Anyone have any idea or suggestions about getting his cell phone to him?  We are flying in and out of Midway, and since RTC is shuttling him, this will be all but impossible I think.   Also - any family of Ship 03, Div 195 with a nuke sailor going to Meet & Greet?

We are flying. My husband considered driving but I can't deal with that. Our hote is pet friendly, but I don't think we could fly with them. Anyway, I was glad for the letters. It felt like I had talked to him. Also, ordered ribbons off of Etsy for us to wear to PIR. I just googled them and it pulled up some beautiful designs. I ordered for those attending and for my parents here, who are unable to make the trip.

SailorLImo. When my father in law was in the navy females were call waves.

freedom:  Well that stinks!  HA!  But glad they finally DID mail them.

No doubt the dogs miss him.  They have such a beautiful way of connecting with their owners!  Remember, if you are driving to PIR, there are hotels that are dog friendly!  Navy Lodge, Residence Inn, etc.  So maybe consider taking them for a reunion with your new sailor!

We also received 2 letters on same day: one dated 5/14 the other dated 5/21. Also Div 200. Guessing RDCs forgot to mail recruits' letters first week.
