For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

But sailors do need to be with guests when they r in halls etc. Sound about right? I'm obsessing over nothing. Ugh. Just wanna see my boy!

Ok so next question. On another page someone mentioned our SR needing a deviation chit to b able to visit us at the navy lodge. Don't remember hearing about that before. Is that true? And how does he get one now? Only week to go and last letter goes out tomorrow.

If you have your own military ID, then you can go on your own. If you stop by the Visitors Center and get a pass, you will be able to go to the NEX on your own. I think those staying at the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and possibly the Navy Lodge can also get a pass to allow them to go to the NEX. No, the Division T-Shirts are not for sale at any NEX. Some are available on the day of PIR while you wait if you look around and you can stop by building 1326 after PIR and get them.
