Hi there...

This base is a higher security remote base, nothing close by about 18 miles away...there's newly remodeled barracks and office housing right on base....Your son qualifies for BAH? many don't at that base....housing is expensive and be careful of some of the area, says this long term CA Mom....

Thanks beachBunny, I did enjoy my visit. I never got to the beach, we were on the go all the time. I loved our service at the Gateway, very accomodating.

Wonder if The Beach Motel at NAS Mugu is reopened??... did you stay at the Navy Gateway at Port Hueneme or NAS Mugu?...

According to the base and squadron newsletters the Beach Motel is closed but the RV part is opened....love walking the beach each morning just steps away from the room.....the rooms really need facelifts.......am hoping with the remodel that the rooms get AC units added and the screen replaced, my room was so full of mosquitoes the last time I was there, I checked out early....:(

encourager .....hope you had a great visit....

Hi everyone, I went to Point Magu for Memorial Day Weekend 2015.  I had a great time even if had to take out my license all the time.  Any questions, I can attempt to answer.

Hi all, we are finally planning a visit to Pt. Magu for May 21-26, Memorial Day Weekend. My son said we probably be staying at those cabins down by the beach. Do they have real beds or do I have to bring sleeping bags? Hugs to you all.

FYI...The Navy Beach Motel on base, it closed...which is a good thing, last time I stayed there, I had to check out early, it really needs some TLC...the "camping" sites are still open....from what I read it'll reopen in the spring....:)

My sailor is single and lives off base.  I read it in the Pt Mugu newsletter.  Lighthouse
