Merry Christmas here from New Jersey,
This is going to post big...tried to resize it...no luck:
Nice to hear...really it's a close group since it's not a big base...:))
very happy to know my son is not alone for the Holiday. Merry Christmas to all.
Thank you all for your words, it helps knowing others been though this. I know it takes him a long time to meet people so he sounded good last night, But I'm a mom who's first child is away from home
Renee, Sorry your son is feeling alone. My son too took his 1st assignment 2 weeks before Christmas. The squadron he joined was just returning from deployment and pretty much took liberties. It has now been 5 yrs. The transition from one assignment to the next is uncomfortable, when I can not reach out to him. But he loves what he is doing and the Navy. He will be ok Mom, I know it is hard. Get movie, check out the shore, I understand it is beautiful and close.
Hi Renee....
Sorry to hear your sailor feels alone...it's tough coming in at the holidays when the holiday leave rotation is going on...one squadron just back from deployment on Friday. Their should be more sailors there unless they are on leave, which is in a rotation too....Did he get a sponsor yet? Introduce himself to others? squadron did host a few events, did he go?? the guys in the barracks seems pretty friendly to each other?
my sailor is home for the holidays just got in from deployment...when he gets back to base I'll have him look your sailor up and intro him to some others as mine as worked with both the squadrons...I'll PM you when he'd heading back to Mugu...:)
Good morning, worried my son is alone a lot, makes me upset that he is so far away and on his off time he sits in hos room alone.
