OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

That's great to hear ReneeHum,,,he should be working his way thru the orientation checklist..they have a big list of places to go, people to meet..this helps them get familiar with the base...

Make sure to ask him to add you to the ombudsman communication list...then you'll get emails and newsletters about the base and squadron...

Good Morning, text my son last night each day is getting better. He's having a hard time with change, and not knowing people. It's only been 4 months since he went in, I'm trying to tell him things will get better once your job & training is done...

I saw a few riding them in their NWUs...he'll have to ask...does he have a sponsor yet, Renee??

There's a Navy Lodge and Beach Motel on base...Mugu is hard to get on without DOD ID...my sailor meets me at the gate, we pull up, guards scan the car underneath and look inside everyone has to have an ID...

Would like to know if there is a Navy Lodge at base. Thank you.
