carols_kitchen,

Yes, were the same ones. We've been having servicemen and women in our home on the weekends for a little more than 10 years. About 250 sailors, soldiers, and marines have been through our house in that time.

John & Yvonne thank you so much for your service & also for opening your home & hearted to our military. My son was stationed at Oceans for 2 years & wish he could/would have taken advantage of your hospitality when he was stationed there. Unfortunately he is now stationed even farther from our home in Michigan at Diego Garcia, on the other side of the world. He is not going to be with family this year & is having a rough time being away from his new baby girl. God bless you!

John & Yvonne, do I recall that you offered Thanksgiving respite to our sailors before? Thank you.
I will pass your name on to our sailor when he dry docks your way soon.

Please pray for us. My wife Yvonne and I live in Virginia Beach. I'm a retired Navy chaplain (I also spent 10 years enlisted).

For those of you who have sailors that are new to the area, or if you are in the military and new here yourself, there are two things I'd like to let you know about. First, We have a fellowship in our home for servicemen and women. We get together Saturday evenings from 5-9 and eat, play board games, watch DVDs, go miniature golfing, and do other special events types of things. We also get together on Sunday afternoons from 1-5 for a big home cooked meal (Yvonne is a great cook!) and fellowship.

If you have sailors stationed here, or you're stationed here, and want to meet people, make friends, and have some fun doing it, we'ld love to meet you. Check out our profile page and if you're interested, contact us.

That was item number one. Now for item number two. I am also one of the pastors at Azalea Garden Church in Virginia Beach. If you're looking for a good, family oriented, friendly church, come check out our services. We're located at 1541 Centerville Turnpike in Virginia Beach.

Please don't feel lonely here. You have friends here that you just haven't met yet!

Happy Thanksgiving. .

Praying for our troops who are going to be heading into the unrest between S. Korea and N. Korea. Also, praying for all of those traveling today for the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Lord, I just talked with Allen & he is so discouraged & exhausted, please hold him up with Your strength & comfort him. They are really working him hard, he is missing his family & things aren't going well in his marriage, he needs You now so much. Please be with him & all our troops worldwide. Amen.

Lord I pray for your healing hands to touch merlin80's son so that he can continue on and graduate boot camp. Be with merlin80 also through this trying time. Comfort & guide them both. Also Lord, please place a covering of favor over my son, Allen. He is up for advancement now and there are only 12% being advanced this time. Lord I pray that he is one of the 12%. Father, Allen is having a very tough day today to, please comfort him & give him your wisdom in what to do. He is still having trouble in his marriages, Father and I ask for your coverage & favor over his marriage. Thank God for listening & answering our prayers. Amen
