I think it would be great to have a place to post requests, answers, or just general prayers for Class 281 or any pre-bud family. Everyone is Welcome!

My son was cleaning like crazy last night, he said there were BUDs instructors coming for an inspection and lunch and something else. (it was a bad connection)
He also said he was told he can not come home at Thanksgiving, that he was told to save his leave for Christmas. Does anyone know anything about this? I am disappointed. Plus, I already bought his ticket. I bought flight insurance, but it probably doesn't cover this situation. You're right Tee - it was a bad storm. lots of downed trees and branches here!

Thanks for sharing kperry. Sounds like your guy had a gorge-en good time! LOL Stay dry tomorrow, they're predicting the most rain in Oct. since 1960! I just sent B his jacket from home and I hope it's warm enough... In Cal he was never cold. My neices all wear flip flops and tank tops all year. Not me, I get cold in Sac! FYI, I have a new pic. I'm "beefing up" for per-buds with my SA.

Happy Birthday Kelly!
My son went into Chicago on the train for the first time and he said he had a blast! he and two buddies, one from WA and one from MI, took themselves out to dinner, and out to a breakfast buffet. He said he loaded up one plate with hash browns and eggs and another plate with "pancakes that tasted like donuts" and then went back for a plate full of pastries! Geez those boys can put it away! He also said they went to Dunkin Donuts and he ate 6 donuts and a bagel. He is still such a little kid at heart! I'm glad that is still his idea of a good time lol. Kathy I thought our sons were roommates but they are not. :-( I didn't realize there were so many boys from NC! But his roommates' mom sent some cookies also :-) His roommate said he killed three spiders, and he said there are a lot of spiders in the bathroom in the dorm AND in the bathroom by the track (?) too. Those sticky traps I sent him can't get there too soon!
Well, I have a staff meeting after school tomorrow (ugh), so I will get a later start on dinner and helping with homework etc and I should probably go to the gym too because I think I ate as many carbs as my son this weekend! Yikes!
Hope you all have a good night! Hugs to all!
PS I think the cold temp and the wind this weekend convinced my sailor that he needs a jacket!

Does anyone know if it's a 3-day weekend in GL? Seems that some in A-school get one.

Good afternoon all. My grandkids just left after spending the night. They are 2 and 7. It is so great having them here and I'm pooped! I added prayers to the prayer place for Crazy Mom and Johnnazz's sons.

kperry, it looks like fall has arrived in our town. I hear rain is coming by Tuesday. I've got to pull out tomato plant too, but I've still got some peppers growing. I'll be curious to see what my CAL boy says about the cold in GL.

I just read your comment CrazyMom and called my son (who took the train to Chicago for the 1st time!!!! and is there now) I told him to buy a jacket!
Kathy I think our sons might be room mates :-)
I am going to go and bake some cookies (my 7 year old twins each have a friend coming over to play) and also pull out the tomato plants from my garden. I love weekends.

When my son told me that he and his buddies stayed at the train station in Chicago all night because the last train had left until morning and they didn't want to pay for a Taxi back to base, I gave worrying about his Liberty time. One of his friends has a car there and they went exploring the countryside. Found a really ritzy area by the lake. He was impressed. I think they also hang around on base on the weekends too.

Hi
Happy Saturday! Last night I took my 7 year old twins to the High School homecoming football game (I am a teacher there). We ate nachos and saw the floats and the homecoming queen and went home early :-) Today is my college's homecoming game so we are going to that one as well. To be honest I would be nervous about trips to Chicago too! My son is only 18, so he is too young to do a lot of stuff and hangs around the base all weekend. I would worry about them driving, getting lost and ending up in the wrong part of town etc. But I am sure if they go fairly often they know the route to take and what to avoid, and I am sure they have common sense. I am a nervous mother lol. I sent 30 sticky traps for spiders to G (they don't carry them around here so that's the smallest amount I could order by mail) he has a broken window in his room, so I imagine those nasty spiders could in quite easily. I worry too that a bite could affect his career! I need to stop worrying so much I guess!
