I think it would be great to have a place to post requests, answers, or just general prayers for Class 281 or any pre-bud family. Everyone is Welcome!

Thanks for telling us about your son and his PIR John. I had my very first military experiences seeing my son sworn in and then attending his PIR. I will never forget it. I can still see him in his dress whites coming toward me in the crowd afther the ceremony. He stood so tall and proud all weekend. I remember the time when an older man walked by us while we were having a meal and leaned down to B and then continued walking. My son turned around and said "thank you sir." I asked him what the man said, and he said "he just patted me on the sholder." I was so proud to be his mom. (always have been, but that was special.)

About the date, I'm learning that nothing in the Navy is for sure until it happens. I believe 281 is scheduled for that date, but dates are so flexible you never know.

PTLIF (praise the Lord, it's Friday!) I LOVE that quote MstrChief. Rachel, me too on the messages. I would love to go to Fleetweek but probably won't make it. One of the Cal moms son has a ship in it. Pooky, you're the best.
One day closer to BUDS!

How's everyone doing? Today is my Friday. I think I'm actually getting used to not hearing from B. No news is good news, I think. Maybe it's just that I'm learning to let go a little. (sigh)

Hi Ellen. I hope work is going OK for you. Hi sweet AZOKmom, how's it going? Pooky, hope all is well with M.
Hi to you too MstrCheif.

Here’s a familiar story told with a twist: Twelve men went fishing in the ocean. Inside, the boat was safe and warm, outside; the water was cold and the waves dangerous. They heard the Leader in the distance calling to them, saying “Come to me, we have a mission!” Eleven men stayed inside the boat where it was safe. One man got out of the boat to follow the calling. He walked on water.

ALL of our boys have gotten out of the boat and have the opportunity to “walk on water,” i.e., to do something extra-ordinary, even “superhuman.” They may walk a foot, a mile or 1,000 miles, according to their calling. When they begin to sink, they will be lifted up because they are NOT alone. They are together to help each other, and the Leader who called them is in charge.

Why our boys? There’s only one reason: they heard the call, got out of the boat, and into the water.

John, congrats on your son's upcoming PIR! Have you received the "I'm a sailor" call yet? I remember how excited I was that entire week. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Seeing him in his dress whites for the first time is truly special!

That is very cool Barabara, so glad you got to do that. How was the weather? How did they look? Are they eating enough? As you can see I'm very anxious for news, don't get much of my own!
