OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I created this video for Molly in January; she'd collected photos of people holding signs from MAS members, so I used hers and added more of my own and US Navy photos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnNpNYOeapU (has music, so let it download completely first) Could be a tissue alert happening!

welcome Steve. what is your sons rate?
Comment by Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom on May 22, 2010 at 6:39pm
Congratulations and welcome Steve! I don't have any info for you, but my first instinct is to go back to your recruiting office and ask questions - and keep asking if at first you're not satisfied. It could be a rating more 'full' than others...
