Oh....you are so lucky! Hope the weather cooperates while you're there. I'll bet it's cold and windy with some on and off showers. But, it will be wonderful to be with your son. If you get a chance...send pictures...dritter104@comcast.net. I've been doing some substitute teaching and have had 4 days with NJROTC! One of the naval instructors used to fly the Ea-6B! He has a home somewhere in Oak Harbor that he now rents out. However, gets back there once or twice a year. He told me if I loved salmon, the best place is Seabolt's Smokehouse on Rt. 20 just north of 8th Ave. The owner's children grew up with his children while stationed there. Let me know if you get there.

Happy holidays and may you have a blessed Christmas with your family!

Unfortunately, we will not be there for the holidays. Our son's mother-in-law will be with them. We're hoping to get out for the Spring and tulip season in April.

DJ...not yet. Chris just finished up on the Ronald Reagan. He'll transition 2012 and cruise Carl Vinson 2013. But, then, two Prowler Squadrons wouldn't be on at the same time.  :)

Whether they like it or not originally, they seem to go with it and like it with time. Usually, because if they think about it, they figured they were lucky to not get something really awful.

OK flyboymom....help educate me...I'm bad with acronyms. What's DS? Your son's initials?

flyboymom- really after hearing Bung, I wouldn't worry about any call sign!  I'm sure it couldn't be worse.

Diane R- wow what a doll! It would be really hard to keep me from one so cute!My son's call sign is Bung-stands for Big,Ugly,New Guy! Imagine how as a mom that one went over! when he first got there so long ago, he was their first new guy for a long time. when I said "how awful to call you that" my son said "mom it's worse if you complain. we just accept it and move on" well as you can imagine, I hate it!

It's very difficult...I last saw her this summer when they flew out to spend time with us and her mom while Chris was deployed. We're heading to Boston in 2 weeks, so staying home for Thanksgiving. They're not coming east. Nik's mom is coming for Christmas, so we're staying home. So, probably won't see her till ??? Spring? I need to Skype them more.

Since I shared Chris' call name...what about your boys, ladies? What's their names and story behind getting it?
