Chris' call sign is "Disco". Story on this...Everyone thinks it's because he dances (which he does love to do), but actually he was aboard the USS Ronald Reagan for RIMPAC 2010. Another aviator was supposed to be there, but his orders changed and he went elsewhere and Chris came aboard. The other aviator also had the name Disco and so, they decided to name Chris "Disco" for all the stuff (coffee mug, name plates, etc.) they had made. Here's his Lil' Miss Disco. Notice the disco ball bracelet, hair bow, and bling on her t-shirt.
Alice and Flyboymom...I just love your stories. My son's getting back into the flying/practicing routine right now, just celebrated his daughter's first birthday last Friday (he miss 10 of those months) and is impatiently waiting till he transitions to the Growler in January. Your boys should ask around for Chris who'll be in for training soon.
Sorry about you not seeing your son in Boston, Alice. I didn't know about the Patriots game, but I forgot the last next to last weekend being Parent's weekend. We were there last year for our daughter's last Parent's weekend at Boston College. She graduated last May. If I had known, I could have tried to match you up with my sister-in-law. She lives in Boston and hosted my son and his instructor 3 years ago during his Prowler cross country flight. They flew to Boston then because he and his instructor wanted to go to a Red Sox game!
