Mail sure is boring anymore! Almost had to force myself to check it today. Should we complain ...no letters? We are getting brief phone calls from Nick - how's everyone else doing?

Hey Sheila, it was great to meet you and so glad that you got to enjoy your weekend with your son. Where is he heading to now? Our son was able to stay wtih us all weekend, he did not have to report back at night and we really enjoyed our time with him...how they have matured and taking their new roles so seriously! Nick is staying in GL for 30 weeks of school. Love to see your pictures when you get a chance to post them - I have to recruit my husband for that duty!!

I wish we were leaving early but I probably won't even be packed by then. Our flight is at 3:40 and lands at O'hare at 4:45, we will be picking up a rental car and heading directly to the restaurant to make sure all is well. My cell # if anyone needs to reach me is 678-234-1125

Be safe tomorrow - can't wait to meet everyone!

Silly boy, doesnt' he know one phone call to mom probably results in 2 dozen more calls to the family! I am always torn between posting it on line here or calling all the family first!! Don't forget your parking pass!

Any mail yet today??? Is everyone packed?? Are you leaving today or tomorrow?? Are you getting any work done today?? Do you have your parking pass ready?? Yes, it is another day of anticipation here and not get a single productive thing done!! Just thinking about where we will be TOMORROW...woo-hoo!

Donna - we got a phone call too...so sorry Linda! Nick was eating pizza when he called but he told me that he got his orders yesterday and has to report to A school on May 3rd.

48 hours until we fly out!!!

Is everyone packed? I haven't even looked at the weather yet today but I know it has been nice there. Nick told me to be prepared for any kind of weather as it keeps bouncing around.

I haven't heard anything about their orders but last week after the BS call, Nick told me their orders were ready but they had not handed them out as of yet. I don't think we will get anymore calls this week. They are prepping them for graduation, heading to A school, having a discussion on what Liberty means this weekend and what they can do or not do if they have liberty. I'm okay just knowing they have completed everything and on Friday morning we will actually be seeing our Sailors!

Okay...what's wrong with me?!!! I'm perfectly calm, excited about Friday but no more tears and no more antsy...since Nick called and made it thru BS, I'm just ready to see him and hopefully spend some time together but I'm no longer a mess just happy to see their day finally come. Idol is on MONDAYs Linda?!!!
Comment by Mary, Proud Mom of Nick on April 18, 2008 at 10:05pm
Woo-hoo Moms!!! Aren't we smiling now?!!! Nick called about 1:00 wiped out and he said lights out at 8pm but he has duty at 2am. Sounds like we all had pretty similiar phone calls and it was all good!

I'm in Gulfport with my nephew who is in A school and won't be home till Monday but I just wanted to see how happy everyone is tonight Also seen his graduation photo package - if your son ordered them - they are very nice and lots of photos and frames in there.

Linda - I'll send you a separate email about Gulfport but Joey loves it!
