Thanks to the many moms and more that are here and ready to help when a sailor is in need! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!

To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

Baby update - looks like our baby decided late last night she may be not in the mood to wait for the Fourth of July!

Susan mom to Niko, I woluld like the address for Jeremy, also. I am glad to hear there has been some progress in his recovery, but wow, it is still so daunting. Is there something specific that would be of help to his mom, too?

@Pat, yes, we'll get all the details (baby is due the fourth of July) and pictures, too :)

I"ve sent the Misty update or a Friend request to all who have sent or are planning to send for the baby shower - if you haven't gotten one or the other, or want to know more & take part, let me know!

@ my3sons: she lives about six hours from the nearest NEX/MEX, but only a half hour from Babies R Us & Toys R Us, and that would work online too.  I know what you mean about getting to shop for "girly" things, fun for me too :)

Hey all- REPOSTING for those that might have missed this!

Have a special request for you!  There is a soldier named Jeremy.  a 35 year old soldier from our area in WA who was horribly wounded in Afghanistan a couple of weeks ago. He has lost both legs and has groin and chest injuries. He's currently in the ICU at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. The military has flown his mom to be with him.  He is very down in spirits and took a long time to be stabilized before they could get him stateside.

UPDATE- they have removed the pins from his pelvis and now are going to move him to the Center for the Intrepid (in Texas) where he will start getting his prosthetics. He'll start with stubby legs with metal plates on the bottom. Then he'll have to earn his knees.

I was hoping some of you might send cards of support to them...  they are far from any family and it will be a long, long road of healing ahead before Jeremy will be able to get back to WA.  Let me know if you would like his address.

Thanks all!

So glad to hear Misty is doing well!!  I figured there had to be a reason we didn't hear from her!  I can't imagine dealing with everything she has to deal with and then have her doctor leave the practice.  That happened to me with my second and it was an emotional time!!!  I was just concerned that she didn't get the packages.  I am so glad we did this for her.  It's nice to help out and make things a little nicer for her!  Thanks for making my day Marcy!
