Thanks to the many moms and more that are here and ready to help when a sailor is in need! It is amazing to know that no matter where our sailors travel in the United States there is a mom there ready to rescue them with a hot meal, place to stay, or help to get back on the road!

To be added to the list send me (Susan mom to Niko) a friend request. Then you can send me a private message with your name, location and phone number. Then you are added to the list!

Hi all I am looking for any one around Bethesda Maryland that would like have a sailor for thanksgiving dinner. He has his own car but is he and quiet and a little shy. He is a Corpsman at the hospital. We are from Nebraska.

i live on the outer banks of nc and am 1 1/2 hours south of norfolk, va. i grew up an air force brat and my dad was always bringing home the (strays) single folks, especially for the holidays. so, that said, if anyone has a sailor stationed in the norfolk area and want to be adopted for a home cooked meal, a place to go for the holidays, someone to be on the pier when they come home or just someplace to go to get away for the weekend let me know.

i have 1 daugher in the navy, 1 going in 6/11 and a son going into the army feb or march 2011. i've lived here for 28 years so i'm not leaving any time soon. i have 3 kids and 1 grandchild of my own but have about another 20 that call me mom and 2 that call me nana and have for about 15 years. my brother and his family live in chesapeake and he retired from the navy after 20 years.

so, if anyone has a lost and loney kid just give me a yell.

The Chicago Mom group is on this and will be visiting during their stay at the VA.

This isn't exactly a rescue...but we have a few recruits in the VA Hospital near the RTC who have been injured while at boot camp. They are waiting to return to RCU where they will spend a few months recovering and hopefully return to a training division and PIR at some point. Are there any moms in here who live close to the RTC who might be willing to go and visit them? A friendly face just dropping by would do a lot to lift their spirits. They have a Navy liaison that stops by but you know that is not the same thing as a mom. One has family in Alaska and one has family on the West Coast. If you can help, please message me!!

Joj, I asked at the Gulfport Seabees group and just got this great response from NitaBee! The group address is http://www.navyformoms.com/group/seabeemoms

Marcy, tell her to come to this group, we have a discussion thread for Gulfport seabees. even if she hasn't got a Seabee, She is welcome to come there just the same. If her sailor is at Gulfport, I will welcome her with open arms. I think everyone else will too. The more the merrier

Joj, post it here and also try here to post your request for your daughter: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/seabeemoms/forum/topics/gulfport-s.... It looks like an active group, the last post was a day ago. They should be able to help or steer you to the right group.
