Mom2rnpa, my son has been in Naples for over a year. He took 2 big suit cases when he left, and has bought the rest over there. You're probably better off sending her money. We send all packages by priority mail in the flat rate boxes. I send a couple shirts or pants at a time with snacks and fun stuff. You can preorder the support the troop’s lg flat rate boxes from the post office website. You will have to fill out a customs form. It cost under $15 for a large box. Make sure it's the flat rate box, once I packaged in the regular priority box, it was $70 to send, I came back home and repackaged it. Good luck. My son is a corpsman in the pediatric clinic. He loves it there, and has seen so much. They are like a big family there.

hi everyone. my daughter just graduated from corpsman school in san antonio and is on her way to naples for her first assignment.  Can anyone tell me how I go about sending her clothing, etc to her?  I have an address but was told by the ups store - packages will first go to california then to customs then to italy. and it is so expensive.  Is there an easy fast route?  thanks so much for your help in advance

Grasshopper, Your family has been in my prayers everyday since my son phoned to tell me the tragic news. My son is a MA too, and has been close friends with your son since being assigned to his section in January. Not only was your son a mentor and true friend he was also his brother. I thank you for raising such a wonderful man who made my son's transition easier. This has been his first time away from home and I am truly grateful for the family he has found. Thank you for your kind words. Your son will always hold a special place in my families heart. Peace to your family.

I write this to my fellow Navy Mom's mostly to let you all know what great hands your Son's and Daughter's are in.   My Son was stationed over in Naples as an MA...he was an MA2 and had been there just over a year.  He had announced on Friday, August 2nd his decision to reenlist in the Navy.  On his way to work Saturday morning he was killed in an unavoidable auto accident that was a hit and run although the driver of the truck did eventually turn himself in to the Italian police.  I write this to let you all know of what excellent care the Commander of the Base took care of us before we arrived in Naples to the time we left Naples.  The care we received from the Chaplains and the other Officers on the Base.  The courtesy we received from the MA's at both the Support Site and Capo base and last but not least the folks at the hospital.  I insisted on seeing my Son and while I was warned it would be a sterile hospital setting, a corpsman there was kind enough to apply some makeup and fix him so that he looked so angelic!!  Navy Mom's, I want you all to know that Commander Gray's wife was at the Memorial service and mourned over the loss of our child!!  Commander Gray expressed over letting us down for not taking caring of our child after we had given him our child to care for.  I honestly cannot begin to tell you the care and dignity that Naples treated our Son and our Family!!  I felt that I had to write this to all of you on this site to reassure you as to the quality of care of the people looking out for your Son's and Daughter's!!  The Chain of Command over there truly care about our Children and have their best interest in mind!!  I saw that with my own eyes!!  When our children are so far from home, it is so difficult and I hope this offers a little bit of reassurance for some of you!  Many of you, I had the honor of meeting your Son's and Daughter's and they were amazing!!  I am and always will be a Navy Mom!! <3

Carrie, thanks for the link, I saw them on Facebook, it is a great pic of our kiddo's.  Daniel said Butter's has a bunch of pictures of the Ball, he should have downloaded this week.  I love the video of Caleb walking.  I am jealous of all the sites they are seeing, we are going next July to visit.  It is good Caleb had to goto bed early, so Daniel could get his homework done:)  Thanks again for thinking of me and sending me the link.
